Wish the modelers followed the concept more closely...

well.... after clan wave 1, i learned not to expect much from the models (the problem is alex sets the standard too high)

Like others have said, the mechs would look better powered down in the mech bay. It would make more sense of course to. The concept art shows the Warhammer at least partially powered down.

cockpit finish looks lazy, torso proportions are off. Arm angle from body in the art, definitely superior

Alright, i do like how the lower PPC arms look sufficiently beefy enough on the model. i thought they got a bit shorter but the side view keeps the PPC barrels look long, so that i good. and i think the hazard stripes on those machine guns are a nice touch.
Posted Image
though the arms do look like they bend inward like a vague hourglass shape, which i think looks rather weird.

Also, being THE PPC carrier of the inner sphere, they all better get good PPC quirks.

All in all i feel perfectly happy getting the collector's edition and hero add-on.

Russ's account is Tier 5?

The upper arms could use some less beefiness and being angled out.
But other than that, i think the model is pretty good.

Well yeah, the lawsuit would have been inevitable . As someone who has no attachment to the original I think it looks pretty good.

plenty of angles to see if you watch the stream. Already tweeted Russ about the arms... and at about 30 minutes you get a good "in motion" view... the walk looks good, overall, until you see how oddly crabbed the arms look.

Also,

Hellbringer arm posture would be just about....perfect

Actually would refer the Vindicator concept art arms. Or maybe arms from say...a Warhammer?

It looks way too blocky/buff. The concept art is great, the ingame model i have to say im not a fan off.

Why is it that with some mechs they just cant seem to follow the concept art at all when they model it ingame?

I actually like the general blockiness of the design, especially on the arms. A warhammer is a blunt instrument after all. Also the old images always straddled the line between round sections and blocky parts.

What I cannot stand is how puny and miserable these little PPCs look. They actually look smaller than those on the current K2. I want particle projector CANNONS not particle projector toothpicks.

At least that frees me from any hard feelings when I run weapon-free arms and smash all the guns into the torso.

After looking closely, I seem to be noticing more often than not the issues with the physical game models are not the fault of the modelers themselves - you can already see the issues in the ortho's that PGI gives us. The ortho's are a lot of the problem, they don't entirely match the concept art.

The Warhammer's arms were always straight and the Hellbringers always splayed out a little in keeping with Clan style.

The blockiness of MWO's WHM is keeping in line with MWO's styling. They've done it to all their mechs. At least the WHM is more in line with the BT WHM than the MAD is.

but gotta agree - those PPC's look pissweak front on or side on

Well, I'll be damned. This is one of those rare cases where the 3D modellers actually made something on the model look better than the original concept art. Specifically, the bulky bit beneath the cockpit. In the concept art, the Warhammer looks like a D&D Beholder, but the actual model looks great!

I tip my hat to them.

But yeah, I do wish all mechs were powered down in the Mechlab, with a UI button to power them up. That would have been soooo easy to do, and soooo cool.

It's only me or PGI is doing too much copypasta with the cockpits, recently?
That's from the banshee.

and this has been my first mech ever seen:

I'm happy that Alex and the modeler reworked the lamp on the shoulders, although those were so peculiar in the WHM
Not happy with the cockpit, and also it seems too much beefy to me.

and the arms, PGI, those arms!!!
