I played EVE for about three years, starting the day it left beta. It was also the day I stopped playing Mechwarrior 4 Mercs online. At the end, EVE felt like it was wasting too much of my time. I don't have the time to play other games then. It was a good decision. I quit and the next game I took was Chromehounds. Never regretted it.

Sure. But nonetheless, I'm still surprised that no-one has the stones to say "you know, this isn't a grindfest, we think our game is solid and worth $X per month -- let's give it a go, or at least make it an option.
