So lately I been trying to do my best using the mic and trying to give some commands in puglandia just to have a bit fun and attempt to help the team. So when the plan fails or people don't like it they get so incredibly bitter and rude that it honestly is just disappointing. Guys, FYI pug matches aren't a big deal and we literally have no end goal in this game. If something fails or you just lose you don't need to get so freaking toxic. You're tiers and K/D matters little and some people get so spiteful just hearing an order at the start that they will just suicide charge and say something like "see I did it snd now I died you're gonna lose."
*sighs*
Anyway, I don't care for win or loss but jezzz just have fun and shrug if you get rolled sometimes. It happens and it's a game.

I would pay a thousand dollars if I could play this line during MWO matches. So many angry feels, so much namecalling.

And hell, I guess people should play it when I'm acting up too. I do lose my temper sometimes, which is silly.

In real life, no one cares how good of a Mechwarrior a person is, nor how many mechs get rolled in one match. So yes, it is just very much a game.

I'll be honest though, I sometimes get frustrated and lose it myself (although I never vent about it on chat or otherwise). That is when one should step back, close the game, and really just do something else more meaningful.

I remember one guy was trying to direct the team. And they were actually listening. The problem is that he was barking off orders. And these poor asterds were having to change direction and bumping into each other. Essentially as the commander, he was way off base with the practical situation of the rest of the team. By the end of it he was raging. Straight shouting and cursing. And one guy was trying to calm him down.

It probably didn't help that I told him to take the stick out at the very end. Or something to that extent. But he had already taken it way too far. I wasn't gonna say anything.

You CAN play it. There are sound mixer apps that let you mix any sound into mic input channel. Or you could just press your mic against the speakers or something.

Oh people like that are just as toxic. I just mean when one tries to contribute a bit more and then is just disrespected with no good reason *usually at start of match*
Barking off orders isn't cool and if plan isn't working then ignore and try to salvage. If not just mute the guy and that's it.

That doesn't really even require a microphone to happen. With the old Caustic I'd often suggest we go left instead of right to avoid Nascar and just fight the enemy right away. The few times we do lose some people said we should have gone right instead and we would've won. Posted Image

Usually folks like that have some psychological issue where they think they're some high and mighty drill-sergeant that's leading a real combat mission. Often the orders are convoluted and not remotely based on actual good gameplay.

Mute, and tell others to mute them as well, then say, "Stick together and deathball." Will work much better.

Try and keep orders simple if you use them in pugs. Mine is usually "I'm a king crab, gonna push, follow me!"

Mine is "I'm getting a 40k ping lag spike. Good luck guys!" and then I get carried to a win. :3

That... is an excellent point! Is there any particular app you would recommend?

Virtual Audio Cable seems to be a popular choice.

For some players, driving big fictional stompy robots is deadly serious business.

I've been back in the game 2 months and finally hit my breaking point. I came from DCing 12 mans and have been trying but I quit. I have 3 timby's pn rotate now, seeing how much damage I can do in my 30 second lifespan. I give up. This playerbase is hopeless. Screw all the pugs. Teamwork is dead.

People that play solo queue... they play solo queue because they don't want to interact with other people. Don't be surprised that when you try to take command they don't respond well or act bitter. Nobody wants to be bossed around. People that crave communication and coordination are the ones that join units and work together and build relationships. Solo players... they're another breed. And there's lots of them.
