PGI your 30% nerf on my movement and modules is just plain stupid.
Or the pilot skills or whatever arcane scheme you came up with.
Please revert to normal or give us a vet players a 30% cbill boost.
I'm all for new players, but new players join every single day.
Seems fair trade to me

its a 25-100 ton robot, its not going to move instantly. if i had my way i would simulate more realistic control theory on torso and all actuators. that means things dont go where you want them to go instantly, it takes them time to settle on the setpoint. whne you have a 15 ton gauss rifle on an arm with a full set of actuators, that 15 tons isnt going to move instantly.

The BT novels had them moving pretty quickly and with good agility. Frankly, I like the BT Mechs better than the MWO Mechs.

They're multi-ton war machines, they're not going to start and stop on a dime, nor should they. The skills were giving way too much of an advantage anyway and I hated how basic mechs were crippled compared to elited. Now the difference's barely there except for the elite skills themselves and heat management. That's good.

If anything, though, I'll agree there's almost no point for most of those skills now, but I think PGI intends to overhaul the whole thing anyway.

I'd suggest deal with it, it's obvious PGI wants mechs that aren't as agile as they were pre-nerf and I personally think it's an improvement.

Ok, let's get one thing straight. If you just noticed now, almost two weeks later, it shows how little of an impact it's had.
It was a change for the better and I hope a whole new revamped skill tree comes sooner rather than later

Don't lecture me new guy.
Maybe I should have said just had time to post this so trolls would have something to do today.
From my end all my mechs are moving like their wading in clay.
And I don't like it.
If it's ok with you that's fine too.
Why bother with skills if it doesn't improve your mech?
Just expressing my displeasure.
Deal with it apparently I have to also.
Good day sir.

I think the slower mechs are an overall benefit to everyone.

All of december has been great, some of the best matches of 2015.

I find myself getting hung up on invisible pebbles now. Constantly.

Detecting stealth buff to jump jets.

Add in the high mounted ballistics on recent mechs...Second Age of Poptart?!

I think the nerf to skills served multiple purposes.
-It reduced the gap between skilled mech and unskilled mech. Which in turn helps new players a bit.
-It creates a bit more variety in performance.
-It gives the devs another avenue to balance and they make a bigger difference if the skill performance boosts are smaller.

Didn't they also say that mechs often only go on walking or "cruising" speed most of the time and not run most of the time?

Nope. The skill system was over buffing mechs combined with the quirks that were given creating CoD-like twitch shooting. The nerf to the skill system was simply a bandage to temporarily mitigate the gap between fresh and mastered mechs with the release on the Steam and influx of new players.

From what I know the skill system is going to be revamped at some point, I think it was after CW phase 3? I could be wrong on the timing of that...

You realize that we were promised a change and improvement to skill trees, not a nerf.

This is just...bad.

This nerf, is hopefully, a precursor to getting FAR deeper skill trees pushed out to us...

Well this was just for balance. Not improvement to the skill trees.

At first I was pissed at the movement changes, for the sole reason of only a handful of IS mechs getting ridiculous movement quirks. Now that quirks are more evenly distributed, it's OK.

But, now the pebbles to get stuck on are even more annoying. I got stuck walking up the trail to Mordor in my Twolf. Not off the trail, mind you, right in the middle of the road.

I'm glad the new mech vs elited mech difference isn't so glaring, I'm all for having equal chances on the battlefield.

I keep hearing about these grand, new skill trees. I'll believe it when I see it, just like info warfare.
