Im all for new players but people who just started the game and haven't even done the tutorials shouldn't be allowed to play CW until they completed the 25 cadet bonuses at least.

I tried to do my best to help but getting asked what everything means/does gets old after awhile.

There needs to be some sort of notice on factions tab that CW is for players that are a little bit more advanced because it's very annoying for vet players when half of the team that just made their accounts are spreading out more then a pornstar in a closeup shot.

Agreed, CW is worse than it's ever been right now.

Example....Had a new player saying he wasted money on the timberwolf and that the trial one was better. Say what now? The idiot didn't know he could just switch the omnipods to get the hard points he wanted...such is the quality of players plagueijg CW....

Who said I didn't?

Point is these players who have no clue should not be in CW. Go level mechs, tweak your builds, learn the fundamentals before jumping in the deep end. It's for their own good.

I dont think its fair to call someone an idiot because they are new and just simply dont know.

People have been complaining about the low population in CW for a while now, but now that we have new people joining CW, the CW vets are mad that the new people are in CW.

Sounds strange to me but I really shouldnt be surprised. That kind of elitest attitude is one of the reasons I dont like CW

PGI did put a notice that no one probably reads when you first click Faction play to warn newbies to go solo queue first.

People are helpful, but it's unfair to expect that people playing 'end game' content help the 100,000+ people who downloaded the game when they just want to shoot the other team.

The tutorial, while nice is quite incomplete. If anything, there should be another tutorial that new players have to go through when they click Faction Play.

Which is compounded by the ****** trial mechs the IS side has, such as the CPLT-A1(c). Many matches I have seen the IS Steam noobs launching missile after missile to the side of the hill. At least Clan Steam noobs got trial Timberwolf/Storm Crow/Arctic Cheetah with full meta loadout, and Clan XL engine, so they got that going on for them, which is nice.

Bottom line is, my soul dies a little every time I see trial Catapults on our first drop. (on Grim Portico, and Vitric Forge, no less)

I tried my best to help but when im telling them what "SHS/DHS, STD, XL, ER and torso twist" all means, they're just like "wut"? Then I ask them did they DL from steam(they say yes) and I tell them just go to the community hub and they ask "where do they find that at" and Im like "...oh boy".

The current tutorial does not teach players about Streak SRMs, Gauss Rifles and LRMs so I can't blame the newbies.

Yeah, pretty much.

I seen a good many that tried to use LRMs at point blank and then cry butthurt because nothing happen and they got wiped and then there is the overheaters, already seen 6 die from overheating before they even got shot at by the enemy.

What do you know.. MWO isn't a new player friendly game at all, who woulda thunk it. If you are the one complaining about new people in your drop because they don't know anything, take it upon yourself to teach them. You have no one to blame but yourself, but alas I overstep my bounds because godfuckingforbid someone encourages actual teamwork in this game of Kerensky wannabes.

Would some kind of CW tutorial mode be of any value?

Not much, people need to get familar with their mechs first which at this point many newbies don't have. Not even after just 25 cadet games.

It is, all the new player has to do is read a small text, play the tutorial and get accustomed. It's a classic RTFM case.

I've been in lobbies waiting to drop imploring the 6 players I see in trial mechs to get in the dam TDR and out of the the CPLT A1s.
It's worked many times and hopefully gave a better experience and allowed me to carry better.

One of the issues is that you actually have to take some of the shite trial mechs, if you could load your trial drop deck with only the TDRs it would be baller. But they make it so you can only take one of them. So inevitably you'll just have to suck up not only noobs, but ones forced into some bad mechs on top. This just makes them potatos to get farmed.

I was in a game a week or 2 ago and only 2 other players besides me knew how to open the gates. They just stood in front of them shooting into it lol

always has been and always will be that way. New players wish to just play and if they do not complain about getting wiped over and over, then all that is required is for a more veteran player to carry them for some time, all the while helping where they can.

Ragging on a new player for being new is like griping about how small the tomatoes your garden provided you, after you picked them 2 month early ffs. ;)

Pretty much any time I've run in a 12man we get to farm potato trials on the other side, there isn't any MM in CW and 12 mans mostly get to farm pugs and don't face premades.
