Voting System Is Almost Perfect! One Small Tweak Needed: Blind Voting.

if 5% of people vote for a map/gamemode it should have a 5% chance of being picked
if 30% of people vote for a map/gamemode it should have a 30% chance of being picked
etc....
So even if only 1 person votes for a map or gamemode it should have a chance of being picked randomly. thats much fairer than pure democracy.
And yeah it should be once you cast your vote you cant change it.

The current system creates a matchmaking instance by searching against ALL players, so search times go seriously down. This is much better than having to search within small subqueues (where people use the old check box system) that only have a fraction of the current active players in them.

Not having a voting system.

Removing the percent indicators will make people vote for where they want to go, and if they want variety then they will vote for different maps. If peole only want one type of map, then that's what they will get.
Use your multiplier to get the variety you want. We don't need a metavoting game.

Random map is the only variety we need. As for game mode the only variety I want is 0% skirmish, but that isn't going to happen with or without a multiplier, nor will the vote being blind or not matter.

And there is nothing preventing you from doing exactly that - vote for the things you want. Problem solved. It gets the exact result you want. Other people's votes have zero affect on yours.
The whole mini-game and seeing the votes puts it back closer to the random map determination as people switch their votes. This is a *much* better solution.

I quit because of this voting system and I've only been back a day before I'm thinking of ******* off again, for good this time.

And how does the mini game affect your votes in any way? If you are only voting for what you want and don't get it, then you get a multiplayer. Exactly the same as if there were blind voting. It doesn't change your experience at all.
The rest of us enjoy a greater map and game mode diversity, like we had before voting.

Stopped playing after the voting system went in, think the last time I played was the event for the TBR-C(C)? Tried again this weekend for the current event, managed to get every prize except...
the one Conquest win.
The few times I managed to run my vote multiplier up and force the mode to Conquest was a complete disaster. When the rest of the team has no interest in anything but team deathmatch, then it doesn't matter if the mode is Conquest.
Prior to this iteration of the voting system, I played 90 - 95% Conquest. I was assured of playing with teams that were mostly interested in playing Conquest because they opted into the mode. Now I'm forced to play with players that have no interest in the mode and are only there because I ran the vote multiplier up. So, its not a Conquest match, its a team deathmatch with controls points mostly ignored by my team.
So, now, thanks to the voting system, I can no longer play Conquest mode. Period. Time to uninstall again, until this changes. Hey, it doesn't change, no problem, plenty of other games out there that want my money. Been spending waaay too much time in From the Depths and ARK, for example.

There is one small problem with he current voting system, though. This problem causes the Voting Metagame to screw things up...
We need to remove the vote percentage indicators. If we remove the percent indicators, then people will stop trying to game the system since they will have no idea if their attempt to farm multipliers will work or not. A blind vote is the best vote.

100% agree. The voting percentages look like MWO is having a seizure pre-game. People attempting to farm multipliers and just generally dicking around because they can see the other votes.
Blind votes (no percentages) would promote people picking a map based on their choice, instead of which they'd rather win of the 2 top voted, or trying to get the least voted one for the multiplier.

Skirmish is still the mode of choice but Conquest and Assault pop up here and there. Stop being salty and just play, no point in having the game if you're not gonna enjoy it.
The merged queues and voting system fixed the biggest issue MWO had: 'Queue Times'.

Hiding the percentages means I will be more likely to get Alpine or Tourmaline and I really do not want that to happen.

No, it's bloody terrible because I can't unselect conquest

Not really, anything that might result in more terra therma needs to be avoided at all costs.

Wow...
You're kind of a sociopathic bastage you know that right?
I mean... fracking over your team so you don't have to play one of the maps or modes you're not particularly fond of instead of doing your best? Or hell finding a way to make it fun?
Just wow...

I for one hope you get banned for doing that. There are 11 other people on your team who you pretty much screw over because you're acting like a spoiled entitled 12 year old. Thankfully, as you say, you at least play less now.

Given the high frequency with which I've been ending up on Terra Therma, I do not consider the current voting system a success. I'd rather have random map selection than worry about the one player with a 12x multiplier and a gimmick build.
