Who cares? If you wanted to support PGI you bought something for 500$. If not, you didn't have to.

Seriously this was blown out of proportion anyway, because of the sole reason that there WERE people who DID buy it.

There is an app on iOS for 999$ that does absolutely nothing. Go figure. It would be stupid by PGI to not offer something to the ones who can afford everything. Because those people - no matter what it cosrs - will want to have something the normal pleb wouldnt.

Even if PGI would have sold them for 5000$ some would have bought it.

^ that

it might be relevant to add that "star citizen" managed to cross the 100 million mark a short while ago. just by crowdfunding.

SC also sells packs for over $10,000....MWO is no where NEAR that level.

That's my thought too.

I have seen a few threads on the Steam page use those as a reason to not support the game n stuff like that. Those gold mech aren't even relevant today (imo) so seeing people bringing them up again now just makes it all the better reason to have removed them from the store.

Who would want a Gold Mech anyways? Wouldn't that just be like having a PGI tag by your name or a giant red bullseye on your nose? You'd be the first one targeted.

Maybe now they will release a gold color. Or release gold mech of every mech, Elite Dangerous price them at 15$usd for a big ************ like Anaconda and 3.75$usd for the smallest Sidewinder. I would expect mech sold separately with a cbill bonus to make more sense for both pgi and the consumer.

If you are being shot at, your color has nothing to do with it.

I've never bought a gold mech. I (like many) considered the price way too high for basically a slightly altered diffuse and specular texture.

The mere mention of a gold urbanmech though....

I might have some cash laying around.
