My last name is McBath, most people read it as MacBeth.

My English teachers were always so giddy when they read my name for the first time.

Okay, so funny story...

I'm hanging around the hangar (was working on helicopters for the Army at the time) with my pal Pratt, just after lunch. He mentions that his order got messed up at a drive-thru. His words: "I got Jew'd." Huh. Now, I know there's like ZERO anti-Semitism in this guy, and I know he knows I'm half Jewish. But just to screw with him, cuz we're good like that, I remind him that I am Jewish. He takes a look around (we were in the Armament shop), then turns to me: "You're the most Jewish one of us here. That makes you THE RABBI."

Years later, I'd be surprised by the sound of a familiar voice, echoing across a crowd outside the gate at Osan Air Base, of an Armament Dawg or two from that shop on that day, calling out "RABBI!".

You can't deny fate, homies...

I was signing up for steam. Said my name was taken, recommended Brody319. I took it, used it for a lot of things so I would remember. Though I use another name for Steam now.

I was/still big into Halo:CE, then Halo 2 came out so I got xboxlive for it and the first screen name that came up was GrimRiver out of the group of names, I was like "Yep, that's the one."

Had it ever since 2004 on xboxlive, gamecube and PC.

I think the first time I actually used Sandpit online was for the old yahoo, IRC, etc. chat rooms and a few text based online games from 56k days

Many MANY moons ago, I bought this game called Quake 3 Arena, the ingame name was irrelevant ( you could change it whenever you wanted ) but I registered on the official forums and there I needed an identifyer. I had absolutely no idea what to use. I have no nickname, I'm not known for any special quirks, the shortened form of my name is neither special nor uncommon. I was stumped. After a while I just went with the name of a character from a show I had seen on the equivalent of the cartoon network up here. That show was Spawn and the character was Chapel.

That named has followed me into MW4 and it was actually taken when I tried to register it for MWO. I wanted my old buddies from NBT to be able to find me easily. Almost none of them play however even though most have at least registered and one is part of the admins for the current itteration of NBT. My point is... I could just change it to something else right now... but like way back then, I have no idea what to change it to Posted Image

There's an incredibly drawn out and dramatic explanation for my name that I'll refrain from going into here (or anywhere).

So we'll just use the simple answer. The song, and the fact that I like spelling things wrong.

In my PnP/TT BattleTech days (my mid-teens, back in the 90s, I'm 31), my go-to 'Mech was an Atlas painted all black referred to as 'the Night Engine'. I'm honestly not sure where I got the name. Likely some edgy teenager thing. I had a fluff gimmick associated with it that was supposed to make it infamous among the enemies of the Federated Suns; it had a 'noisy' reactor housing that created marginal interference with enemy sensors. Nothing that would affect game mechanics but I was the imaginative sort.

Turns out there's a band called Night Engine these days.

Used KHETTI from the very first day of MW4, basically i was, at the time really into Ancient Egyptian Mythology.
There are various translations of the name, my particular name sounded and looked appealing to me as did the Myth attached to it.
Khetti was supposedly a Demonic entity that took the form of a giant serpent made of lava, he was the servant of Osiris and was the punisher of the living.
The condemned would be brought to a massive pit that lead to the underworld.
Khetti would be summoned by a ritual ceremony that included the torture of the condemned, upon appearing Khetti would belch demonic fire consuming the soul of the victim, condemning them to eternal suffering.
