Steam Definitely Worked

now its here and we've seen the extra players, time to separate the pug and team ques for CW, along with making finding / joining a team part of the game not done by players outside the game client on 3rd party web sites. Far to much of the teams aspect is done out of the game client, down to people using VOIP separate to the games client VOIP.
Easy fixes that seem beyond PGI's skill set to define, so here it is :
1 - Separate ques for groups and pugs. If separation of the ques is not viable due to the low player numbers problem, a bonus available for PUG's that end up facing a premade, or a penalty on CB for premades that ROFL stomp pugs. In an all round term, incentives to promote balanced play.
2 - A faction system that is IN GAME that allows leaders to form teams, a roster of teams that are accepting players, and the ability to browse current teams within faction groupings IN GAME. Best example i can give is the "guilds" system that is prevalent in any MMO of note.
3 - incorporating real rewards and real objectives that tilt rewards depending on the objectives that were chosen. not the current meaningless map with no real goals or rewards. If you look at the CB reward gained from doing CW currently, its pretty close to just dropping in the pug que 4 times with individual mechs, the only bonus you get is the 300k when your side won the entire match, This equates to 75k CB per mech drop.
4 - expansion / addition / modification of maps to allow for a secondary objective goal in CW, this would help lessen the slant that currently exists between a win or loss and allow for a more varied gameplay. This could be tied to the "guilds" system IE: completing a secondary objective in a CW mission could yield points for your "guild" that opens up new options for equipment / mechs / weapons modules / intel on future drops etc etc etc.
all this adds up to more depth, better gameplay, meaningful objectives, and easier team management for both leaders and members.
We have steam now, the legendary holy grail that was supposed to fix the low population issues for PGI after years of them driving players away, time to balz up and get it done.

But it might have to do with the holidays. With steamdb, we have now a very reliable source to analyze the MWO steam numbers.

Not true at all...There are plenty of pugs for it too work.
The only people that would have to wait longer are the groups.
And why are we holding back something good for the game for <5%?
Because that 5% is what builds the community. Not the pug tourists that want to have their cake and eat it too.

other side of the fence might say the 5% he obviously feels apart of, are the brain dead zombies who like anything PGI does to allow them to continue playing a very narrow dull game, the rest of us are the smart ones who pop in from time to time to see if its actually progressed / been fixed / improved to a playable game not still in beta ( and before that starts a war, CW is beta still, and about to go to yet another phase of beta, because PGI can't do anything other than release new mechs. )

Removal of pop-tarting
Any size groups
Single Player / Co-Op Campaign so new users have a "safe" area to learn. Plus shameless plug
VOIP
Removal of ELO (Tiers isn't perfect either seems the same to me honestly)
CRYENGINE update and DX 12
High Resolution Texture pack
VR
New pilot model
Better maps (maps with atmosphere )
Destructible environments (We got trees and some small stuff it's a start)
Corrections to mech geometry
New in-game HUD
Dynamic Weather
Cockpit glass effects
Higher Graphic Options
Optimization
Things you pugs fight for:
Nerf LRM's
Not getting beat up by teams that practice and play because you feel entitled you should win.

soooo many things for pretty pictures, not game play. i could pick this list apart all day, but im not going to bother as your obviously one of those that enjoys feeding on other players, not a challenging game.
if you put the effort you tout yourself as having done in to stable balanced game play, working hit boxes, etc etc etc the game might not have as many "tourists" / pugs you refer to.
personally, people with attitudes you have made representation of here are not an incentive to join teams of any sort in there current state.
I don't argue against team play, im all for it, let you lot go and smack each other off all day for all i care, id welcome it, however you do seem to have a problem with pugs ( or tourists as you call them ) not being setup for your feeding times, and that is arrogance and ***-hattery of the best sort. Your sir, are the problem.

If you're not against teams then you should have nothing against CW and group queue. If you're playing alone solo queue the 5% don't effect you in any way.

What is stopping you from creating your own premade or unit? Again you want to have your cake and eat it too. Nothing is stopping you from joining or creating a unit. It's your issue you don't have time or want to socialize with others not PGI's. Teams practice you don't, again you choose to lose because obviously winning wasn't that important because if it was you would apply yourself.
CW was created for the Units of the game it's the Hardcore mode.
You're not denyed access to CW so again I'm failing to see an issue other than you think you should be entitled to win with no effort put fourth like the boogiemen that constantly stomp you because you walked into thier domain.
YOU DESERVE TO LOSE TO TEAMS THAT WORKED TOGETHER AND DEDICATED TIME TO PRACTICE! If you want to win apply yourself. Quit trying to force restrictions on those who work hard because you're lazy.

in what way am i asking for a restriction on your preferred method of play ????
If CW was created solely for teams, fine make it teams only. Hey, guess what ??? its not teams only, its an alternate mode of play in its current beta state, and thats it, delude yourself all you like on it being hard mode.
regarding teams, go for it, make it INTO THE CLIENT not a separate thing done through 3rd party sites etc etc etc. There is not in game team management / search function / ranking , etc etc etc. In their current form, i have no desire to associate with the usual current team members available as i have found most of them to be to toxic and not capable of realizing there is a real world out there and this is a game.
I have no desire to partake in "signups" on 3rd party websites, downloading 3rd party voip to hear some toxic arse-hat swear over voip for my kiddies to hear. I have no desire to play at a set time decided by some fat freak who has never seen daylight. I have a life and play for enjoyment, I welcome others to do the same, but that is where we seem to differ as you have portrayed yourself as someone who enjoys the current pugstompfest that CW currently is.
I welcome a balanced game that is a challenge for ALL groups of players, or perhaps that is what your afraid of ??? losing your ability feed as you see fit. If your skilled, grats to you, your probably more skilled than most, again grats to you, but i fail to see why you would like an imbalanced matching system over a balanced one that gives you a challenge to further improve.

I've been playing a lot more CW lately and it's fun. Really fun. I just don't understand all the hate so many of you are throwing arround. If you want solo play go run the gauntlet mode in the tutorial. CW is community warfare. Be part of the community. We are active on Steiner hub. I know the Falcons have a hub and the wolves and Raselhague. Meet some people. Heck I pugged cw and dropped with some snakes, but they gave me their TS address and we gave the clanners a decent fight.
This game constantly improves and yet the bitter vets just seem to get saltier. Blows my mind.

Dude I see your problem. Apparently you think in clichés. There are scads of teams who are nothing at all like you describe. There is, admittedly minimal, team support in game. More is comming. Why not hop off the bitter train and try meeting some of the people who aren't super salty bitter vets. There are a lot if us and we're having a really good time.

I'll sum this up with all the units asked to not let pugs play CW only units, the pugs cried, Russ said fine you can play but you accept that you'll be facing units that practice, work together, and build teams. With no matchmaker involved.
As for all the insults to teams, or great players, you're the one who seems quite toxic and bitter. Go play solo queue with your mic off, and shut up and quit posting trash on the forums.
THANKS go find your "safe place" on tumblr

i have met a handful of sportsman like people like yourself, and they have been whats kept me playing CW from time to time, but ultimately the good people like yourself are far outweighed by the toxic arse-hats that get me kicked out of game by my wife as the voip from this is currently not family friendly.
I work well in a team, follow orders etc, and can't wait for it to be added to the game in a meaningful level, but yes currently there is nothing apart from tag's, and those that enjoy the pugstomp shite.
And only thing im bitter over is PGI's lack of progression on everything, seems we just get more mechs adding to the pile of problems and unfinished things we currently have. **** graphics and VR shite etc, i want more game for ALL people, I love BT dearly and have for many years, it breaks my heart to watch what little PGI have done with it.

Except that all the units do now is club seals. So maybe when the next CW phase comes in theyll do the sane thing and seperate the groups and pugs. Then we can hear the units cry.
And no; your rose colored history is wrong as lone wolves (IE pugs) were always meant to be meat for the grinder in CW.

if i had any idea what tumblr was, i guess id laugh, but i have a life, don't use social networking **** as i actually go around to my friends place and enjoy a real conversation and human interaction while having a beer, i can see why this is outside of your understanding though as your social skills have represented.
