A character I made for an RPG based in the Silent Möbius (anime) universe named Kim Soo-Yun (or Soo-Yun Kim, western style).
Hence Silent (Möbius) Soo Yun.

At the time, however, I thought I was simply signing up for the forums, not my permanent MechWarrior name. If they offer a name-change service, I just may have avail myself of it... Soo-Yun is just wrong for piloting a Mech (until they offer Mech melee, anyways).

If you haven't seen the youtube video clips yet.

Coming from BSGO Aquaria, there was a viper pilot named "CobraBubbles" that would kick my butt on a regular basis. I created a new character with the name "Honey_Badger" in hopes that I would eventually be able to beat him now (which I can give him a prety good fight now). Anyways, I told him about it later and showed him the "Nastyass Honey Badger" video and we had a pretty good laugh about it.

Captain Jean-Luc Picard is one of my Fav tv charaters ever and I'm black so the name Kuro Picard was always nice to me. (Kuro is *** for the color Black so my name is translated The Black Picard)

My first WoW character was named Mortimir - I tried to think of a name that implied Death was coming.. and I've used it in every game since.

Well It used to be Baron Von Toasty in a game called VileCity, accompanied by an alterd picture of powderd toast man. I kept the tag in a few other text based browser games (before facespace), But when I purchased the games I wanted something a touch more mature. I seen a computer player in World in conflict called von glory, figured that would work, added the baron and called it done.

used to be Milowsksi. Zthen it was kamarade ULTRA.

Then in law school we had a class of contracts. Remember that Budweiser commercial "WASSSUUUP!!??!?"? Long story short : anthrax letter post 9/11 style.... Hence KONTRAXE. Like Kodak, it can be correctly pronounced in all languages. Important when, as a French Canadian, no one can pronounce your name correctly.

See ya all on the field, can't wait to explode you all.

My original callsign is Nighthawk, which I got from a long running PnP BTech game me and some friends ran. (The SIlver Eagles) But as it was taken, I put in a name ive been using in online games recently that almost never gets taken.

My Pilots have the Name since i played a Flightsimulator on the old C64, there the Fighters had that callsign. A Long Time ago so. Just the MW was this time necessary.

Betaeffect is short for beta effective, a term used in reactor physics-the effective delayed neutron fraction...had it since MW3...sometimes I am asked what a betaeffect is and I tell them skin burns...

My name comes from Captain Mifune from the Matrix movies and the Japanese actor Toshiro Mifune of Seven Samurai fame.

Just like the sound of it. Seems like it would have a story behind it without having to tell one. My original name i wanted was Amish Rocket Scientist but it doesn't fit. :[

In the movie Mystery Men, Mr Furious is confronted by his soon-to-be-girlfriend prior to his big battle. She asks him one last thing before the battle, "What's your name?" He's all defensive and stumbles around a few of the coolest names he could think up on the spot... of which Phoenix Dark-Dirk is one of them

Ever since I've had the name Phoenix Dark-Dirk (Mr Furious claims it's hyphenated...) but MWO wont allow hyphens in names... :(

I've used that name in every game since the movie came out... Sad, I know.. :P

Cheers

Phoenix.

I work as an engineer in a factory. I like the cool irony of usually fixing stuff, but implying I don't.
And it sounds good.
