I've used Yvraith, for most of my online forums & sites I visit for quite a while now.
It is the name of one of the characters from a WIP fantasy novel I have been writing (on & off) for nearly 17 years. (My inspiration comes & goes.)

Mine is stolen from my old greyhound. He was an accident waiting to happen, from eye injuries from being clawed by a cat, broken tooth and abrasions from chasing rabbits, stitches from running into fences chasing sheep and broken tooth, abrasions and a damaged eye from being hit by a ute. And after all that he died from choking on cat biscuits at the age of fourteen. A good life lived hard!

I stole mine from Phantasy Star 4. Elsydeon is the protagonist's endgame weapon, which not only does the sword thing well, but can do interdiminsional teleportation and erect protective barriers, and is the afterlife for the good guys from Phantasy Star 1 and 2 (3 was complete **** that is even less in the universe than the Dork Age).

In Germany, people are living on the coast called "Fischkopp". Especially the People from Bremerhaven, because of his former fishing industry. When I moved away from Bremerhaven, i was called by my new friends “Fischkopp”, because I came from Bremerhaven and I am proud also. Also my nickname fits my actual BT player name "Ian Cobb"... Ian from "Christian" and Cobb, from the Hell's Horses Bloodname …so Fischkopp.

That is the reason why I named myself Fischkopp aka Ian Cobb
sorry for my english

Quite simple really, I used to use Kosh for everything because i liked Kosh from Babylon 5 (no complaints please but I loved that show). But when online gaming came in this name Kosh was always taken so i had to think of a way of changing it while keeping the same feel.

In hind sight it does sound a bit like the name of a Russian invader... Koshack the Cossack ;0)

Since my original callsign (Downfall) was taken, i decided to use my mainstay from the various RPGs i play.

I've been using nick Acius in games/internet for years. For years I've been trying to get Acies - "sharp edge", but it's always taken. So I've put "u" instead of "e" and became "Acius" and after some time I've got to know that it's a latin name and there was Saint Acius in a 4th century... so yeah...

My name is one that I have favored throughout my adventures on the internet. It started when I was unhappy with my user name on Steam, which was Timoteo. I had chosen the name because in eigth grade Spanish class it was the name that I was given by my teacher. I found the name quaint and used it as my name for about half a year. After some time, it didn't seem to fit anymore. I thought for a while, and came to the conclusion that I would name myself after hack-and-slash games. I had never actually played a hack-and-slash styled game, but they sounded fun and the gameplay fit my style of playing any video game. The "Mr" is just there to make me seem more gentlemanly and distinguished.

Funny method actually. I've always had a few usernames I always tended to use, but were never really orignal and I never really liked like P-mac, KennyTheTomato, etc. So one day I just decided that, if I was that stumped on a name, maybe reCaptcha could help me, since it generates hodgepodges of letters. And after a few generations, lo and behold, it generated "Naherven", and it has stuck with me ever since.

How to explain ...
I like going to local (for me) con's (thingy like Comic con etc.), and all say i change into someone new on them, like a were creature.
So it's fusion of Konwent (con in polish) and werewolf (Wilkołak in polish) = Konwentołak ... but not always i can use our signs so I've change "Ł" to "L"
Hope my english isn't so bad ;)

Well my original online-name of 20 years (Twilight Wolf) became unusable with the inception of those abysmal pieces of writing by Stephanie Meyer.....

Since Bear and Wolf are both kinda my "totems" (no I actually don't believe in stuff like that but still it kinda fits) I decided to take on a bear's name after my wolf's name was taken from me.

So I became Kodiak. The "Knight" part comes from the fact that I'm a sucker for all things medieval (I study history as well) and the circumstance that "Kodiak" alone isn't a very original name after all and so oftentimes already taken when I register anywhere...needless to say I usually find that the one who registered as just "Kodiak" and has thus taken away my name, is actually completely inactive, as is the case again here on this site...

So there it is: Kodiak Knight

Actually, for MWO RP I go by the handle of Malcolm "Kodiak" Knight. ;)

I picked up the name almost 10 years ago, really don't remember where I picked it up from but its been my gaming tag through many MMOs and I don't see my self changing it anytime soon.

Funny enough I picked my online handle Codex from the Battletech books years and years ago when i first started reading the series. I figured that since a codex was the record of a clan mech warriors battle accomplishments that name would also fit a online handle which also is a sort of record if you think about it.
