4v4 should be out this spring, hopefully. That will hopefully breathe some life back into the game. Meanwhile, a break always helps. Either you find out that you don't miss MWO at all, or you come back and enjoy the game. It's a win-win situation, unlike trying to force some enjoyment out of it by running 12xFlamer Novas or whatever.
As far as balancing goes, I think the game is arguably better than ever, even though they haven't really done much about laservomit yet. I'm really, really happy about the skill tree nerf. In my mind, it's the second best thing to a complete revamp of the skill trees.

The game as been a bore fest for a while not. It started for me when the Clanners were created.
