This is just like the Blackjacks and Locust 1E. Once upon a time, they were considered bad. Now they have been tainted by the meta. I had them mastered all long before Clans were even a thing in the game!
Cheers, fellow badmech pilots!

Haha I was just saying this to some of the people in my unit the other day. The quickdraw was one of my favorites long before quirks were even introduced.
Even after the jump jet nerf hit it hard I still loved it and played it.
QKD-5K 5 JJ's 360XL and 6 medium lasers with as many heat sinks as I could. My aim was to harrass and make myself a target so people would focus me instead of the real threats. So many times I got entire lances to turn and chase me and present their backs to my allies that came over the ridge just after me
All hail the Quickdraw.

I always thought the QKD was an inherently good chassis. JJ, lots of well-placed energy hard points, and can take a pretty big engine. I got my 5K because I wanted to play it like a tougher Sparky. It was considered bad for a long time because the leg hitboxes seemed to cover the entire mech... and it was sluggish for its speed. Now that those things are fixed, the QKD performs as it should. Quirks are just a bonus for a chassis that's laid out well.

To all above. Very interesting stuff. cSand, thanks for the thread.
My 11 Quickdraws (soon to be 12...I need to buy another H, just because it is at least still viewed with some negativity) salute you all. Any fan of the Quickdraw from back at the beginning through today must have redeeming qualities, even if some of you are showing clan affiliation.
To those of you who have bad mouthed the Quickdraw during that time. Please continue to do so. We liked it when the QKD was the supreme underdog.

I just started running QKD's. Not really for the quirks, but because I wanted to turn one into an Ostroc and have it's arms fly off every time a stiff breeze hits it.
