The 4R is very strong and probably one of the best IS meds (tier 1 according to metamechs). The "meta" build for it is 2 MLs + 3 LLs but I prefer 2 LPLs + 3 MLs since it's a tad cooler, shoots faster and has its big lasers in the torso instead of the left arm which quite frequently blows off. I used to use the goose + 5 ML build, but since gauss nerf I find it's not nearly as effective as the vomit builds now.

4R is the only enforcer I kept around; it's a nice enough little mech, kinda plays like a slower hunchback that can jump.

personally I use a STD so that the right side can be used for shielding; its engine cap is too low to bother with an XL imo

This is how I ran mine and it worked wondefully.

However the low speed XL is not for everyone so my alternative is 3 Large Pulse Lasers like this.

I run my Enforcer 5D like that except with the higher engine and no jump jets

The third one I would run uses a STD engine. You could also drop one DHS for near max armor which I personally would do instead.

And also the front and rear armor distribution on these builds is up to you I just set it to max armor by default and it often leads to a lot of rear armor.

Overall Enforcers are probably my favorite medium to play up there with Blackjacks.

I'm curious what player's experience with the Enforcer is, specifically the 4R variant. I've got a hankering to purchase a medium mech. Right now I have a full set of Centurions from winning one way back about a year ago. Anyway I've never been a huge fan of the Centurion (which means I may not like the Enforcer, I know). The Centurion feels weak to me... Or it's a little too big for a medium. Even fighting them I don't have trouble hitting them. I'm also not a huge fan of the loadouts available for the Centurion. I've come to realize I love lasers... And the Enforcer will allow me to use a lot of them.

Also currently with the way the MM states which mechs would be the best to use at the current time it seems everything but heavies is favored. I also want to go cheap so if I like it and decide to get two more it won't cost much. I also realize a lot of people point to the Shadow Hawk... But I'm just not sure I want to go that route.

Is the Enforcer a decent mech to run with in the medium class? Keep in mind my playstyle is absolutely not a front runner. I'm a support player all the way although I'm not afraid to take damage and always do.

Thanks in advance!

It's a shame you're not a fan of the Centurions, they are actually really solid, once you get torso twisting down. They are a chassis that is viable as either a standard or XL Engine. Test they are a little large, but you will have at least a sheilds arm (and possibly a sheilds torso for a standard Engine).

I understand liking lasers, they are easy to use, and don't require much skill to be effective with, so if you want lasers, the Crab is stupidly durable. She also has a high mounted head laser, mind you nothing bigger than an MPL can be there. I run one of mine with nothing but MPL's, with the range module she's really solid, but I still like my Centurions more.

It really surprises me just how good the pulse lasers are...

Everyone has given me some great feedback on what I should use. I think at this point the Enforcer with a large XL engine and jump jets as a base is the way for me to go. It's going to take some getting used to but I like the maneuverability I'm seeing with it watching others play. And it's pretty clear that I'm going to start out with either pulse lasers or standard lasers. I may run standard lasers to start since I've really been having good luck with them. But those pulse lasers have really caught my attention.

Metus Regem the biggest issue I have with the Cents is the hard points. I'm almost positive if any of the Cents I have had more energy hard points I'd be a lot more focused on trying to get a laser vomit Cent going rather than looking elsewhere.

Centurions are another good option. I still enjoy my Centurion A variant. I never really cared for the AH, but the A just seemed to work for me. The D variant was too LBX orientated, so I never really liked it. A rapid fire LBX feels awesome, but after a while, the lack of damage it inflicts for the exposure you need is rather ehh.

Regardless, I'd recommend the Centurion as well.

The CN-9AL is laser focused.... And she has a Base cost of around 3 million....

I have three Cents right now - The YLW, AH and the AC. I know what you mean concerning the LBX-10.

Of course it's the one I don't own! :-(

Oh well, it may not be a bad idea to pick one up since I have three others I can work on eliting.

I have the AH, A, and D. I ALMOST bought the YLW, but bought the St. Ives Blue instead...because I'm crazy like that. I figured I had the AH, so why not go for the Vindi for the heck of it.

Anyway, I am a Centurion fan. A true fan should have a YLW, so maybe I need to get that next time.

To be honest I personally should have skipped the Cent lineup and gone with Thunderbolts instead... The biggest regret I currently have is selling that Thunderbolt that was rewarded for completing a challenge. It's become quite obvious to me that I simply wasn't using it correctly at the time. Oh well, live and learn.

But hunchies have no JJ's...Posted Image well IS hunchies dont, IIC's do.

i feel the exact opposite, i can do things in my ENF's i never dreamed of in HBK's. To each his own i guess!

I don't really care for most of the HBKs myself either - I tolerate the 4P because 9 ML or the 2 LPL/6-7 ML version is pretty brutal as long as you stay alive.

The 4SP though is probably the most underutilized Hunch while at the same time being one of the very best mediums in the game. Runs ridiculously well with a xl275, and can spread damage to nearly the centurion zombie level while retaining great maneuverability with a tiny 235 standard engine. Nothing fancy about it, just one of the most solid medium mechs in the game.

My YEN-LO-WANG, it works rather well, I pulled the engine out of the CN9-D, and stuffed a few more rounds into her, and she works so well!

And this is what I did to the CN9-D, she really freaks out skiddish light pilots.
