The AC20 is just a burden in my eyes, the tonnage is just better employed elsewhere.

Well just because I'm not a huge fan of the AC20 anymore certainly doesn't mean I won't be trying it again. And an AC20 on a medium is pretty sick.

I think a medium is where the 20 really shines (especially a quicker medium). Good for hit and run tactics and it can shine late game when the opponents are starting to get beat up.

Overall I'm with you. I'm not a huge fan (again mostly due to how fragile it is over the range issue), but it does have its place.

4P with 3 med lasers, ac/20 with 3 tonnes of ammo and an XL 300, great fun.

The 4R is awesome with Gauss and 5 MLs.

Enforcers are solid as a medium can get(the one I used).

Crabs are too but with them you have keep your torso aimed at your target(80% of time) or the sides will get blown off pretty quick due to how long the body is on that mech.

Griffins aren't bad either but some models have all their hardpoints on one side and if that side gets blown off then you're weaponless(you'll have to use the empty side as a shield).

Yeah Enforcer 4R and 4P are both amazing. 4R is great either as a pure asymmetric laser boat or with a big ballistic + mediums, 4P is probably the best (and fastest running with a xl320) AC20 medium in the game (which may or may not excite you).

Are MG's really all that good though? I've never ever been sold on them. Thank you.

MG's are kind of an afterthought on that build. I had good heat efficiency and it made sense to pair up the Small or Medium Laser with something in the other arm of similar range. Like I said... mixed results. You need face time with the enemy if you're going to use your MGs, which is ok if you are behind or flanking... not so much head on. lol

As you may have already noticed based on the replies, the 5R is very flexible.

Just keep the arm shielded. I lose my left arm far more often than my right. And the AC20 take up a lot of crit spots, but it also has more crit points (18) than any other item or weapon. You gotta get a crit with a gauss or another AC20 to be assured of blowing it up. Compared to a gauss rifle (5pts, explosive), the AC20 feels way more durable.

I just bought my 3rd Enforcer early this morning (hoping mastering them might help)

But in a word Junk is how I would describe the Enforcer

Only the 4P with its AC20 is any good ok maybe not

I considered Griffins but it seems SRM's+artemis is the way to go with them and frankly I'm anything but a missile user.

I didn't really care for them myself, pretty sluggish for a medium mech.

So put in a bigger engine, 90 KPH enforcers are hardly sluggish.

I wanna say i run the 4R with a bunch of Med lasers and Gauss

Griffins are actually a lot better in my opinion. Use SRM4 without artemis with no worries.

The one he was looking at primarily had a max engine of 260, at the best case its slow. I think the best rig I had for it was 3 LL and 2 ML and just poked around the side of the assaults.

Rest of them were more tolerable, but its still a comparatively sluggish medium, even when stacked up against the HBKs I run with 235s.

But hunchies have no JJ's...Posted Image well IS hunchies dont, IIC's do.

i feel the exact opposite, i can do things in my ENF's i never dreamed of in HBK's. To each his own i guess!

I adore my enforcers, some of my favorite mechs in the game.

I do regret getting the dual UAC5 variant though, as its by far the weakest for me personally.

the 4P with its structure quirks, 2 LPL, 2 ML, 2 MG and an xl300 is great. the ac20 is fine but arm mounted ac20s are risky. if you lose this arm you are losing half of your dmg output. With the LPL in the st you can lose both arms and you still have your main weapons to fight on.

Ac20+4ML standard engine is a good mech to guard the fatties, also when guarding the assaults, no one will even look at you if you have a direwolf or atlas around you

The Enforcers sing with XL 300, 4+ jump jets, and 3xlarge lasers. Hitboxes are the best of the 50 tonner class, and loadouts meet or beat the cent in pretty much everything except missiles. Between the HBK and ENF, my cents have all be retired except the yenlo and AH.

The Enforcer has become one of my favorite Medium Mechs in the game, while the 4R is my favorite variant. For a taste of what the 4R can do, check this out:

The 5D is also a pretty sweet Mech:

The 4P is also a blast to pilot:

Bottomline, you can't go wrong with the Enforcer. It's a terrific little chassis and surprisingly tanky for its weight, even with an XL in it. I highly recommend it!

I think the ENF-4R is greatsauce. I run mostly 3x LL + 2x ML, with two of the larges in the torso. Another I do is 3x LPL, or 2x LPL + 3x ML. All of these are with a quick XL and between two and four jumpjets. Can also run 5x MPL with a STD engine, but... meh. Pretty niche, and not necessarily worth it. Pre gauss nerf it could run gauss + 3x ML, but I always found gauss underwhelming on it.
