Alpine is here to stay. Russ stated on Twitter that Alpine is staying in the rotation. This confuses me.

Finally, I get some good news for 2016 ... even if it's just from a video game. But right now, I'm taking what I can get.. <shrugs>

Why would you divide resources to create a new map for public queue, to replace/update an old map that people complained about constantly, only to pretend like you were misunderstood and leave the map you intended to replace/update in rotation? I confused myself just typing this.

Alpine isn't the worst map, but it does need a balance pass.

Well some people complain about it. More people complain about Bog and Mordor than do Alpine. Its fine, we need more maps not less. I have had some great fights on Alpine.

Agreed

It needs softer cover options and more access to hill tops (as just about every map does)

To be honest the map isn't the problem.

Love Alpine, glad it's staying. No, I've no particular mechs I use to exploit it, just plain have liked it. While it would be nice if people would use more of it, and on conquest the actual cap points were back where they originally were - there is nothing wrong with it at all. People choose to play king of the hill cause that's their psychology and new players like lemmings follow the older players into yet another suicide.

Challenge your group to defend ridges, stay at base or draw combat in some way off that mountain, never committing to a suicidal death march up, or to "taking it first" and you make the whole map your oyster. But leveling the mountain, making a flat arena of it... rediculous. I'm glad a flat ice map is coming out, we can call it Hoth, for those who wish they were charging into combat in AT-STs rather than Locusts and Ravens.

It's a people problem: zombies being attracted to that non-existent pile of human brains on Mt. Derp.

Well, that assumes zombies are still people. Posted Image

Not a huge fan of Alpine, mainly because in a PUG drop it take much effort to get the rest of the team to try something other than rush the hill. One of the better matches was when I convinced my side that we could just defend the base when we spawned on the lower side. Except for one holdout who raged in team chat and VOIP before storming up the hill, the rest of the team stayed put and eventually crushed the enemy as they dribbled off the hill in twos and threes. That being said, the 3 maps that need the most tweaking are Alpine,Terra Therma, and the Bog. Don't think we'll see any resources directed that way, though, as PGI seems to be resource challenged (per usual).

Spawn locations.

Single biggest problem on Alpine.

Second is all the wasted space thanks to Troglodyte Mountain.
