"Why are you guys in D4 again? Come group up in E5. You were in D4 and got rolled last wave."

*group stays in D4, gets rolled again*

"We're holding in counter-attack! Why are you guys at Omega? It doesn't matter, come up to E5. This is where the fight is."

*group stays at Omega, in the back, behind cover*

"I think they just don't like authority".

Some people are bad because they are confused or need practice. Some people are bad because they somehow thing being good is 'giving in to THE MAN'. So by being bad they are being.... rebels?

The biggest problem with LRMs is that the only players who use them are simply bad at this game. Once people learn how to play, and could play those LRMs properly, they also understand that they could play something other than LRMs to perform better. So we are stuck with bad players using suboptimal weapons badly.

Had a guy on my side drop with, no joke, 8000 ping. Said he was playing via satellite connection. Of course, all he could do was LRM. Still did more damage than some of the other pugs :(

Said during a match against 12DG
Some guy on VOIP: "Guys, we need to push out of spawn." "Why are you guys not pushing out?"
Meanwhile in text chat.
Player: "I need a meat shield."
Me: "There is no such thing as a meat shield in CW."
Me: "If you need one, you should not be playing CW."
Player: "Literally no one wanted to be my meatshield....."
Player: "that's why when I pushed out of spawn....."
Me: "Because such things do not exist in CW."
Player: "I just died."
Player: "Explain that to me."
Me: "I just did."
Player: "clencey."
Player: "With your sciences."
After this match, I left the game looking to beat my head against the wall thinking it would help me understand what I just listened to.
-------------------

Said by 2 guys on VOIP, the only 2 using VOIP.
"Guys, someone needs to call targets."
Me in text: "Ever think no one else knows how to call????"
Me: "And they may not have mics." (We were halfway through the Counter Attack.)
"How do you expect to win if someone doesn't call targets?"
Really, how does someone call targets with no freaking mic except using text chat that requires they stop moving/fighting and type, oh look they got killed while typing. This is on top of how you can tell some players were new by the Mechs they were using (Trials) that means they very likely do not know what calling targets is.
Said later on.
"You guys really need to learn how to push, all of you."
Me: "Stop assuming, I led your charges."
That I did, I even took the front when I dropped in my Executioner and Ebon Jaguar when one of them said push in. Making blanket assumptions without paying attention just makes someone look stupid especially over VOIP.

One time I tried my hand at calling concentrated fire targets in a 12 pug group.

One of my teammates "SHUT UP!!!!!"

We rolled hard, teabagged, went home victorious.

Queued with 6 JF players to defend a Wolf world with 5 other Wolfs and a GB.

We got called out to lead from two other guys (one was very helpful with constant reminder to work together, that was important later on) but thanks to the one SWOL Wolf cub, we could have lost easily.

We started pushing, he stayed back. Wrote and talked that he should push up, didnt do it. We pushed in, he stayed in the back when we all tried to do as much as possible. It wasnt that he was slow, we had a DWL that was faster. But some people held back because he started talking smack.

Second wave went the same, where he stayed as far in the back as possible with his PPC Warhawk while the rest tried to push - again. More and more Randoms held back because he didnt push in. His response? "I'd sooner die then follow a falcon scum." Until that point, the game was very even with no distinct advantage.

Third wave, we called him out. He had a LRM MDD and tried to talk back. Our lead nearly lost his patience and threatened to shoot him. Well ... he didnt really move. But the rest of the people fell in order, we crushed the opposition with a very nice timed push. Since this nice SWOL member didnt get close, he got next to no damage in with his LRMs (800-900m range) since for the first time, our target calling worked (amazing what 4 more mechs following orders can change).

Im still amazed. There is a difference between roleplaying and just straight up **** with your entire company just for the sake of making their life as miserable as possible. Will probably never forget that one annoying SWOL player. Seriously, we try to help them and thats what you get.

I was in a pug with a wellknown forumite who was french. Well one of the pugs started screaming at him on voip that he didnt follow the french and proceeded to rant and rave at him the entire match. The french guy tried to lead but the guy cluttered coms so much that he was unable too. We still ended up winning with me calling targets but it was just ridiculous. I felt like I had been teleported into a COD game.

I had a battle recently with a group of PUGs. We were on Boreal counter attack defense fighting a 12 man. One person took on the responsibility of drop leader and recommended we try castleing since they were a premade and we were not. People generally agreed so we set up in. Defensive stance.

Very quickly we noticed a raven and catapult moving out towards the gates. We called them back and received no answer at first. After repeated calls they repositioned a little bit but were still out near the gates. Finally one of them gets on text chat and said he wasn't going to play defense. About a minute later he dies and starts yelling at us for not supporting him. He then disconnected.

Hmm this happens pretty often actually...

Some random pugs, usually without unit tag tells my 2-8 man premade unit group we doing this (our tactics are bad and we are going to lose this game because of us) wrong multiple times during the game.
We win the game and in the end of the game screen we usually end up 2-3k dmg each while hogging most of the kills and that pug gets 100-500 dmg... Yeah we are doing it wrong.

I always liked this specific type of pug. The one that gets paired with 11man group, all from same unit, and then proceeds to call the drop via in game voip, and there is no way to explain to him that those 11 unit tags are there not just for show. He'll just kkep giving strange calls entire way through.

My favorite is a group of 12 random pugs that get all bunched up at the gate, someone says "push" and everyone just stands there.....except the one guy that didn't bring an LRM boat. Then he gets yelled at for not singlehandedly locking targets for the rest of the team. That's supposed to be assaulting.
