I am curious.

Communuity Warfare has been talked up by PGI for a while now. We have had major events utilizing it.

...so how come I have to wait in a defend queue for easily 30 minutes just to find a match?

<insert sad face here>

It depends on where you are dropping.

Dropping in an inactive area will be met with... nobody else.

It could be argued that solo players need the game to "redirect" them (possibly MM-wise) to where they need to go.

Because it is more like Community Waitfare. You aren't missing anything. Just a bunch of choke point fighting and a big brawl at some point that decides the rest of the match. It gets old fast.

There isn't much wait unless you are playing the over populated faction (probably IS). Sometimes a horrendusly under populated house or clan can make it so attacks are full of waiting and crap, in which case you'll have do def.

Thank you for the responses.

I am playing CW currently just to level up my faction achievements. To be honest, I still suck at this game. :)

Next question: Why has no one written an extensive HOWTO for CW?

I sit at the lobby and try to figure out what the numbers mean for whatever planet is being attacked/defended, etc. Once I enter the queue (12 pilots have finally joined), I have no idea how to read the screen.

PGI needs to address this. :)

Not much different from normal queue, minus the wait times. Poke during the first one to three minutes, then close up and finish with a brawl. Wash, rinse, repeat. The team that hides from the big, bad LRMs gets crushed every time.

Davion was pretty slow when I used to be aligned there. Join house Steiner the sick chickens are pretty good about defending their rocks. We have many units that combine on the house TS server and get drops. I haven't had a ghost drops since I switched.

Also on the upper right corner of the FW map you can see active planets. You can defend anything though that has a high risk of trying to fend off clanner premades.

Look for a planet that has close to the same amount of attackers as there are defenders> or better, a queue of enemy teams waiting for your side to get enough players to fill a drop against them.

Additionally, pick the queue that your side is close to filling up a drop on (as close to multiples of 12 as you can get, so 21, 33, 45, something like those as good).

So a red crosshair planet that is 22/26 or 33/39 would be great < both those have opponents waiting for you AND are close to filling up a drop, you'd only have to wait for a couple of pugs to jump in to fill it and you'd go straight to a 1min match countdown.

Thank you Ghogiel. I appreciate your input very much!
