"Take passive radar for instance. Why do you want it? Just for LRM defense?"

I'd personally want it for avoiding detection in general, not LRM defense.

So earlier, you mentioned you wanted to see passive radar, and you confirmed you want it as another measure of stealth. That's exactly how I'd like to see it brought to the table. So you see how more stealth could have a positive effect on gameplay. This entire proposal acts counter to that and doesn't really address any existent problems. It only came up as a way to counter a hiding, powered down mech. A mech which would be very cool and probably receive stealthy quirks by the sound of your last statement. Sure, it could be realistic and be made to work, but I don't think we need it or see how it would have a positive impact on the game.

LEGITIMATE QUESTION:

So is this scenario against the TOS because this came up the other day.
That's all good. Luke you said, there are still ways to help in combat, spotting, distraction, shielding. The other way to help is by staying alive, maybe it would be a 1v1 dual when the clock ran out, and you being alive in the corner would have won the game. No problem whatsoever.

What I don't understand is why everyone is so irritated about this. Hiding is a valid tactic - also pretty useful if you're good & lucky on the timing for ambushes or evading detection for ambush. Doesn't make sense why people think mechs should only play the slug-it-out play style and anything else is against the TOC. Also, if a player has died in the match and is spectating some other player who is doing something they don't like, well, jump off the match, get on another mech and play a new match. By the time you're done your previous mech should be ready to use then.

Not to mention, whoever is still alive in that other match is entitled to do what he/she thinks is best for them in that match. Whether or not it's foolish or praiseworthy is up to that player. He/she is not obligated to listen to impatient players who wants the match to end if they're dead. It's their fight, they're the ones who decide how they want to finish that fight.

Why so insistent on one particular mech? (unless you're a newcomer, in which trial mechs are good buffers until you acquire enough Cbills to purchase other mechs or variants to expand your bays).

Also you should admit, that wanting to attack enemies without them being able to return fire (i.e. from complete stealth for example) - is obvious sign of cowardice.

Whoa! Did you just call anyone and everyone who went through the U. S. Army Sniper School cowards?

Who games is it again?

Also by definition dont most games have RULES? Even major sports?

All GAMES tell you how to play other wise its just a free for all and not really a game at all? If we dont have a definitive set of rules and guidelines how do we even know what a win or loss is? Let alone a infraction, i guess there arent any if we dont have any rules to go by!

MECH ANARCHY!

I'm going to assume that english is not your primary language, so I'll forgive your inability to formulate a cohesive thought...

With that said, WTF are you talking about? What does any of the sewer filth you vomited have anything to do with the context of this thread? Let's be clear here, the idiots here want to punish a player for not laying down and presenting their neck for execution! Moves like this make me want to troll the living hell out of all of you who support this BS!

Blatantly against CoC. Just find a weak mech, try to get a ramming kill, run through them and see if they'll shoot each other.... Whatever, just accept the loss and move on to the next match. So what of there are 1 or 2 ********, your screwing over the other 20 players in the match. What are you trying to prove?

Yeahhh,,, no. You play your way. I'll play mine. Report me if you can, but then I want to know how you're in match with me.

What this post is about:
 • Running out the clock, or needlessly extending the duration of the match, in cases where doing so will not assist you towards victory.
Taken directly from MWO CoC. I'm all for sneaky combat, but the above is childish. If you go through this post you'll see the kind of arguments they're putting up.

Who care's if English is not someone's 1st language? Does speaking English make you better? And... You relate constructing a "cohesive thought" to the ability to speak English. Wow.

And after all that you couldn't even recognize the great point that he did make. Did you bother to read what he quoted? I'm really tired of being told how I HAVE to play the game...really tired.

His response was perfect.

I love that moment when people have no logical response and spout something childish like "Well, I'm just going to do what I want anyway." Just man up. You lost that match, whatever. Work on those real life skills, accept defeat, lear something from it and move on. Don't pout about it in a corner. No one is impressed.

You think I care about your opinion for one second? Get over yourself and don't try to shame someone who doesn't care what you think of them. You waste your time.

It's very clear by how you run off and hide in a little fit that you don't care about anyone's opinion. You shame yourself much better than anyone else can.

Almost. I just thought of a perfect analogy. It's like a kid running off with a ball on the playground "If I can't win, no one can play."

When i'm running the clock out in conquest (win or lose) and i'm the last one left, i'll play however the heck I want. Pick off a few kills before it hits 750.

No, im not rushing in to my death because you decided to play horribly and die early. You can sit there and think about how bad you played. I'm not taking a death for your stupid mistakes if at all possible.

Just came out of a skirmish..... Score at 11-3 (we got slaughtered). This guy with decent armor ran under a boat and powered down for the last 7 minutes of the game and got crazy on comms bc people wanted him to just go and fight. This is the perfect example of the OP.... and a huge waste of time. He bragged about 2 kills ...with 180dmg....

Well, 2 kills to his credit obviously means he did participate in the fight. What did the other 10 do (subtracted one because obviously someone also made a kill) other than die? Posted Image

The other 10 noobs lost. Instead of having a tantrum, he should have fought it out.

I have this nagging feeling that the last surviving player was not the only one having a tantrum, assuming he even was having one. We only have one side of the story.

In the mean time, I will reserve judgement.

Well, I have a full video of his side of the story from spectate. He was sitting about 89% total. The second the 2nd to last guy popped he took off and hid under a bridge/boat powered down and wouldn't even attack the mechs passing by him for 7mins. When people got after him to just get out there and fight so we all didn't have to sit and wait he blew up talking about reporting people for harassing him etc. It was stupid.... There really was no excuse for this other than he didn't want to take a death... So the rest of us were locked out of jumping onto the next match until this one was done....

Again... there was no logical reason for this... yea the team got slaughtered... It happens when everyone spreads out to go on Call of Duty runs... Had it been me... blaze of glory.... not power down and make everyone wait just to give me a 2 to 1 kdr for a match. Oh and when another mech passed him he powered up and ran off the opposite direction for the remaining 30 seconds to keep from being attacked....that's what set the rest of the waiters off
