You are deliberately playing your mech badly, forcing your team to carry you.

I'm pretty sure there are rules against that.

feel free to report me, any time.

We can carry you to Tier 1 if you need help. I feel bad for your teammates. We can take on that burden for them.

lol

Much better, doesn't look stiff, like before and the sunken head looks tougher and more menacing IMO. Even Russ comments on how improved it looks.

Thanks to all those who helped make it happen, but double thanks to PGI and Russ for listening to us, and making the needed changes.

a grab from Kapusta, btw.... daddy like.

And...haven't finished watching yet (my computer and twitch did not want to talk) but Kapusta said 60% PPC velocity.

60.

OK... so still gonna strip your PPCs off?

Now THAT's a Warhammer

Omg...I didn't even buy it, but YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS.

I can't wait to see these on the battlefield. My god, the glory of it is staggering.

Um, excuse me?

Since when is playing mechs based on TRO's considered "Playing Badly?"

You know, I can take a Timby Prime, 2CLRM15, 2CERLL, 2CERML and 2CMG's and wreck consistantly which is only a slightly modified [and arguably downgraded] version of the stock Timby Prime. I can take a stock 3025 era Atlas and obliterate Direwolves with it, or a slightly downgraded Catapult with 2lrm15's instead of 20's and 4mlas and still hold my own.

Just because someone isn't running "The optimal, lulzmeta" build, doesn't mean they suck, frankly some of us are here playing because of the lore of this property, and to be an asset to the team, not to go 12/0 LULZWRECKED l337 haxzorz mlgpro.

So you know what, take your opinion, sit, and spin bro. I'll be running my Whammy's mostly stock [save for dubs]. And enjoying every minute.

Wait a second.... you just said you run TRO's... but modify them?

Doesn't that mean you aren't running TRO's?

WAIT A SECOND. YOU META SONABIT........

There's meta, then there's making optimizations based within the logic of the universe.

An upgrade from single heatsinks to doubles, makes sense, as it's a lore friendly change many would make in the novels, and was a common upgrade for merc's to make within the lore if they had the money available to do so, since it would more than likely help the machine than hinder it.

Downgrading from an LRM20 to a 15 is also entirely within the realm of what would be done within the lore, mostly to combat heat problems AND would be a very easy modification for the techs to do.

Taking a mech, stripping ALL of it's weaponry, and loading it up on ERLL's and Heatsinks, when the mech was intended to be an assault class Indirect Fire Support platform with some close range punch [looking at you Stalkers] is NOT lore friendly, and NOT easy for the techs to do.

Why would you put a long range weapon system in a position where you have to expose your entire Mech to fire them properly, putting your entire mech at risk?

Because you often don't "have to". Side step, pew, step back. It's the left/right vs forward/reverse.

So in which universe is it logical to put sniping weapons in the lowest portion of your mech?

I always find it funny when I'm watching someone peek around a corner part way and they don't fire from the exposed arm. :D

People can practice with a quad PPC Warhawk :3

Also a lot of people don't group left/right side so they end up not being able to partial shoot thingy. On some mechs I have Mouse 1 on left side weapons and Mouse 2 on right side weapons and I just have my index and middle fingers on both buttons.

Some days I do get lazy though and just put everything on mouse 1 :(

In a universe where arms are not static.

Also in a universe where mech fighting was similar to knights facing off on stead. And Mechwarriors were considered the knights of the battlefield.

You think in pure gameplay terms, to you, honor, man to man fights, ect, aren't a factor, you're just in it to get kills and win the match.

For me, when I load up Mechwarrior Online, I'm loading in to BE a mechwarrior... see that Dragon symbol next to my name... House Kurita, Mechwarriors from that house are fashioned after the Samurai of old. Where Honor Duels are common.

PPC's are, actually NOT a sniping weapon, that's actually a very false notion. The sniping weapons of the Battletech universe are Gauss, AC2, and arguably AC5/UAC5, and ERLL's [I suppose you can put ERPPC's in this, but not standards]. PPC's are actually the energy weapon equivalent of the AC10, it packs a decent punch at the cost of heat, but with the benefit of no volatile ammo, it can reach to a decent range, but not insanely far. It's ment to be a decent hitting weapon without ammo, nothing more.

Now it DOES have a decent range profile, but even then, it's not "Sniper levels" of range.

wait. what? By that logic then PGI would lock every mech into what some giblet deems the most meta style mech. Heck, for that matter they better pull most mechs from the game...

They'd have to ban everyone below T2 for starters and anyone who bought and played a Pretty Baby or St. Ives Blues. Posted Image

Of course they will... and strip the arms a la the Hellbringer. Low hard-points, yo. They'll tuck the PPCs into the side torsos.

What a shame, they wont be able to shoot targets that are above them. Guess they are too " pro " to be able to think about good mech builds. The wanna-be leet meta trolls wouldent know a good mech build if it hit them on the head.

I'm going to assume the funny part to you is that I play this game to loose myself in the universe, and not the fact that PPC are not a sniping weapon?

In which case, my point is proven.

Tier 4 - Everything you said has been nullified.

Tier 1, clearly a no lifer who has nothing better to do than fight giant robot's all day.

See how this works?

I will say this right now man. Don't be a jerk.

On a different note: (and actually contributing to the conversation)

Not everyone plays to win, and some people find only playing optimal builds to get boring and not challenging. So to challenge themselves (and arguably their teammates, since the game has zero singleplayer) they will take "sub-par" builds. If they enjoy it, then good. Winning is not the main purpose of a GAME. The main purpose of a GAME is to get entertainment.

If they don't enjoy running the best stuff all the time, you can't, within reason, nag them for it.

By the way, cool mech. Posted Image

It is amusing to watch folks who only understanding of mech builds come from copypasta what Gman says is good, though, lol.

It's much more fun to run something with a bit of flavor, than the cookie cutter "meta". Ain't that right?
