Crab is my best 50 tonner!

Just mount a STD, and tank damage like a boss, while melting faces Posted Image
My average damage on my elited (almost mastered) CRB-27 is more than 400!
Edit: this is not meant to be epeen waving. People around here can do those with a Urbie, i'm sure. But i can't... unless in a crab. Hence why Crab is awesome!

Love the Crab! First laser mech that I could get to work!

And also seems to be the best mech for the Envious Eardrum warhorn!

I never got into the Crab. It always felt fragile and under-gunned. Compared to my Hunchies or Blackjacks it just doesn't compare

I survive a lot longer in it than the Hunchback. I like how low it sits so that I can sneak around without showing upper torso. The 27SL is a great medium pulse jumper. It doesn't have as many hardpoints as some of the other 50 tonners, but it definitely can stay alive.

The hunchbacks and blackjacks seem to be the superior chassis for 50T. more because quirks and weapon placement than anything else.

Blackjack is 45 tons.
Just ignore the fact that it has the structure of a 100 tonner.

"Fragile" doesn't describe Crabs for me. They are incredibly at rolling damage, apart from Zeuses I don't have a single mech that's so regularly reduced to a stickman before going down. The horizontal-lying torso and the huge thunder thighs also means your legs take some of the hits intended elsewhere. All in all they tank a silly amount of damage before going down.

I'm having very good luck running them as second-line fire support platforms with STD engines. I haven't tried them in a mobile medium role, but it's literally the last mech where I'd put an XL engine.

The crab is my jam, I elited(never really cared for mastering mechs) my CRB-27B.

Thanks to it's low profile(people seem to over shoot me in it) and it's maneuverability makes it a very good skirmisher.

I run 5x ML and a LPL in CT with a STD270(Endo+DHS).

Orthos weren't released until the Classic Unseens, at least with any regularity.

Only reason we go them for those is it was an easy filler for the "7 day countdown" (which I wish they would just stop), sales announcements, etc.

That said, I would love to see all the concept arts and orthos get a forum gallery.

They are surprisingly solid. They have really nice hit boxes, roll damage well, and can take a beating. I thought they were going to be terrible looking at the design when they came out..... I was very wrong.
