I just got to ask, where are they from? Who came up with them? Are these legit, canon names or what?

I mean I've seen:

Derf, A Place, Here, The Rack, Pain, and Lost just looking around the upper left side of the IS. It seems some planets are named just like towns or little places you'd see on a map, or like some type of old pioneer trail. That or just like someone came up with them off the top of their head.

I'm really just wondering, do these places all actually have their own little histories too?

Sarna.net type in the name and it will give you planetary info... which CW doesnt...

Yes I think all of them I've seen in CW are real.

The planets are all geniune from lore, no matter the weird names. Heck, there is a planet named Pleione--which is a shade of purple color. Coincidentally us Marik just took that planet from Liao hands today, and by all rights, it belongs to the Purple Birds.

All of the names are canon. As the poster above said check out sarna.

I and my friends had a full wall poster map of the inner sphere, they had all the planets you see on the CW map in it, by name.

Also try pulling the camera on the CW map all the way out and look well past the boarder of the IS house. You will find more clusters well out side the IS houses.

Remember when Russ claimed they had a writer working on writing the planet lore? Hell, we don't have any of the lore for the mechs.

Said writer must be 99 years old, arthritic and possibly going blind.

Typing lore does not take that long. :)

Ok then, go count up all the planets in the Inner Sphere and Periphery, let us know how many that is.

Then, go read up on each and every planet. Once you are done with that, type out a description for each and every planet.

Let us know how long that takes YOU to complete while working on other things at the same time.

Easy peasy...

What I get online (of which there is a lot)...copy and paste.

The rest? OCR baby!! Optical Character Recognition. Computers..great things they are, work smart, not hard.

Someone around 1987ish;

"Oh crap I've got to finish this planetary thing by TOMORROW. I don't really have Google yet so I better get started naming things!"
