You mean his books? What about them?

hmm..., you won't be mechwarrior for too long

Heh, and just what's that supposed to mean?

The illusion of freedom is better than no freedom or illusion at all.

You know like the rights guaranteed in the US Constitution.

House Davion is heavily aristocratic. We're talking about medival european lords in space. They hate everyone saying something against their unlimited power.

Oh, I'm sure they can take an ironic joke. If not, then it looks like I'll run away with the Dragoons!

The reason I went Davion is because ever since I got into Battletech/Mechwarrior ('Mech commander was my initiation) that's who I would fight for if I was actually real. I can understand why they fought against the DCMS in the 3rd Succession War plus seeing as what the DCMS did to the Dragoon's I understand why Hanse doesn't like them!

As for the 4th Succession War I totally understand it and whole heartedly agree with what Hanse did to that weird psycho they call " celestial greatness"

Personally I would have obliterated every piece of Liao excrement that fought for Maximilian Liao and later his madder than a bag of cats daughter Romano (who I hate with a passion).

Something that might also have guided me to be a Davion is because I'm English

i used to read all but four of the battletech novels and out of all the charicters in the battletech universe the Fed Sun Faction has always been my favorite even the thought of fighting for Prince Davion one day in the clan wars

Well, I didn't, and the reason behind my decision to not join House Davion is the fact that I have a pair of testicles.

I started playing the board game around '88 and didn't know any of the background. When we decided to start role-playing, our GM picked Lindon's Company in Davion space for the beginnings of our little merc group and we just stayed. Our GM also got to all the books before we did so he was able to work the whole 'Hans wedding gift' into our story line which turned into so many battles in Capellan space I almost qualified for Laiotian citizenship. Dr. Bazai from the NAIS also made a few appearances and set a comedic tone [we all loved the movie with Peter Weller]. Davion just felt like home.

Reason I joined House Davion: The Prince has to serve 5 years in active military service.

In short: you're not in charge unless you have the balls to actually fight.

PLUS mixed unit tactics.
PLUS the fact that you can trust (for the most part) your commanders.
PLUS NAIS.

That is all.

I choose Davion because of MW4: Mercs and Black Knight. Steiner has shown disgusting levels of disloyalty and backstabbing, ESPECIALLY to Mercs, and Davion not only supported his Mercs in the field when he could, but he fought right at the forefront. A man of honor has my loyalty.

  • They have the best millitay of the successor states.
  • The actual care about their people.
  • I really don't like their neighbours

I started with fighting for House Davion back in the original Mechwarrior game for pc. At the time, I just liked the logo really, and they paid better salvage then anyone else. As i got deeper into the lore and history I just liked Davion more then anyone else.

(I'm really stoked that this game is roughly same timespan as MW2/MW2 mercs)

Title says it all. Why have you chosen to fly the Fed Suns banner?

For me, I became a Davion waiting for the old InnerSphere 3028 project to materialize. At first the choice was rather shallow. The faction color was a forest green. But as I learned more about the faction I came to love an appreciate it.

I now choose Fed Suns because they are a (comparatively) fair, just and open society, still embracing the old world (current day) liberal ideals of personal freedom, rights, and democratic process. The Royal family did not have supreme power, and the people still had a voice. Better yet, while allowing freedom, the government was still strong enough to maintain unity and order and stability with strong and efficient military forces, unencumbered by the silliness of the DC honor codes, or the Incompetence of CC, or FWL.

It seemed like the place in the IS that I would most like to live.

granted, I have not maintained my BT lore over the years, so some refreshers are an order Posted Image

I agree with this. I prefer non oppressive governments

I choose the Federated Suns way back in 1984 based on like the symbol from the 2nd edition box set. Have been loyal every since.

Because I couldn't chose Jade Falcon, so I decided to opt for the closest people to besting Jade Falcon (Victor/Christafori)

And Victor's okay too. So's Kai. Infact, you can't hate them.
