Hiding is against the TOS, so I often report entire teams as they cower behind cover.

These TOS/CoC-Changes is the bigest ******** PGI come up with in a long time.

The problem isn't players using LRMS, its the players themselves, LRMs are situational, you need to move and create firing solutions.
Unfortunately most think being an LRM support mech means standing stationary 900m behind the main line, that's the problem.

Seriously. Can I report LRM boats for non-participation? I have lost the last 4 matches in a row because half the team is sitting in the backfield lobbing LRMs. Half of which are missing target because they lose lock during the 900 meter travel time of each missile barage.

Seriously folks.. You're a liability relying on just LRMs to get your damage in.

Go back on break.

Seriously.

Seriously.

And I don't play LRMboats very frequently because they just aren't usually that interesting to play.

I prefer to read it as mocking the OP with an equally ridiculous gripe.

I seriously hope so...but I would not be surprised if it was meant with no sarcasm intended.

I blame the tutorial for not explaining how LRM works. Most assume it's a fire and forget weapon after lock hence the perception of 'low skill ceiling'. Heck, I bet most new LRM players don't even know what a TAG or NARC symbol means.

LRMs at distance longer than 400-500m are useless in more than half of the map pool. I have no problem with LRM boating as long the boater knows what his own weapons actually does.

For the vets, kindly explain to the boaters what they are doing wrong. This might be the 100th time you've played with an ignorant boater but it could also be his first few games using LRMs. Most players are fairly casual and wouldn't dig through forums or analyse post-battle stats and wonder what the heck is going on.

Meanwhile, I'm usually getting a KMDD every game I get at least one kill- though being a lurmboater, that also means I have games with a pile of assists vs. killshots, because missiles.

Sadly you can't report people for being sucky about lobbing missiles, any more than you can that guy who decided that his ERLLs should never do more than 1 damage per shot across 3 hit locations. Posted Image

Of course I seem to know the super secret lurmboat strategy of not firing outside of 600m and expecting a hit.

That flight speed is truly terrible... I'd like to see it back to where it was

At the least, I'd like to see flight speed actually increase with distance traveled, meaning the 600-1000m rangeband actually matters for a launcher. Straight up velocity increase just makes LRMs more accurate at shorter ranges, but a missile that gains speed in flight will get more accuracy at long range without having big changes in nearer shots.

I don't understand the hate for LRMs...
I'm making a lot of points for the challenge by hunting down LRM boats in my Jenner-IIC, and while i distract the enemy team, my team's LRM boats are doing their part and getting their points.

The problem with LRM boats during this challenge is that everyone thinks they can get in one.
LRMs need a supporting cast to work well: they need big mechs that protect them from lights like myself and smal mechs that distract and lock targets.
People are understimating light mechs these days... i'm trying to prove them wrong.

Good idea push my unit and I will start reporting all LRM boats for non participation, maybe then they will finally make them actually useful in comp.

Regardless CS is going to have a bad weekend :)

I'm going to truly enjoy the report abuse backlash over this. Please do continue with this master plan.

Only if LRM boats can report other team members for failing to press "R" .

And let's face the facts. If you have a player doing what you claim then would it matter if they were missing with LRMs or missing with autocannons? cause that is what would happen.

And of course...Why the hell were you not providing targets if half your team was LRMs? Seriously you failed them as much as they failed you. Did you launch a UAV? did you lock a target? did you use the in game comms to help coordinate LRM targets to maximize effect?

Play with the team you have not wish for the team you want.
