Its Part Of War

even if you are completely new (AFTER FINISHING TRAININ GROUNDS) come to try CW and then try it later when you have better mechs again, but please be a team player
stay together focus fire (shoot the most damaged enemy or the one at which others shoot), its enough
call targets, its the next level
you are welcome in trials, but please you have 4 mech bays at start, choose a mech based on your trials experience and buy 3 variants and always use as many as possible of them in cw, also use all c-bills to improve them and try new load-out, strip a mech before selling it
its normal that in a war completely untrained and unprofessional civilians are forced to jump in war machines and start shooting, also the reactions are normal: panic, suicide, stroke, e.t.c.
hence if someone behaves like that you can report him to the command, they will send him to the labor camps immediately, after all someone has to produce the resources for building these fine war machines.
so when in the midst of battle you see some mech not moving do not be alarmed, some recruits who have bypassed or cheated at the medical tests will perish due to, but not only: stroke, heart attack, shock, numbness
if you see someone rushing in the fight without any result dying in a manner of seconds - it is the big old PANIC, stay out of their path to avoid team damage
if they move or act against orders and common sense, beware, stay out of their way: its overconfidence and lesser forms of panic, let them die in a pointless attack to avoid team damage
the quality of mechs matters, but team work much much more

How dare you want pugs to act as a team. Dear lord they have enough issues with the evil units clubbing them 24/7 with their mythical 12 man's and co-ordination and teamwork. They should be allow to play as they see fit. /s (sarcasm mode off)
i'm quite frankly over pugs who just come in and refuse to work as part of a team. Most matches i've won has been either because i've got the better team or the enemy team has more selfish pugs who refuse to work as a team, same goes for loses.

Sure they have their own version of ELO , but at best it takes the edge slightly off the imbalance.
Part of the problem is that the very rewards that are supposed to reward teamwork also destroy it , rewards for solo kills , scouting , most damage , etc. etc.
The core way the game is set up and works are partly to blame , the other part is of course that often people will just do their own thing no matter what!

I'm surprised no one has brought this up before. It is actually one of the best arguments against the "PGI made this to be a team based game" mentality to be brought up so far.

Just for the record, they have a lot of rewards for playing as a team that you can only get with while with your team.

There is no Matchmaker in Faction Warfare.
For the Public Queue, I believe the game works off of totaling the tiers of all of the players in a match. That is, if you total up the tiers of all players on both teams, they totals will match (or at least be reasonably close to each other) while also trying to balace the various mech classes on each side (if one team has 4 Assaults, the other team will likely have 4 Assaults as well).
No, it's not perfect...but it works a LOT better when you have a higher population.

You're going to get that no matter what. As long as there are tangible rewards, people are going to do the thing to make sure they get those rewards...they don't care about anything other than themselves and you're always going to have that in any sort of game where those stats actually matter. Unfortunately, that is a fact of life in a game that is competitive.
...and because it's competitive, far too many people spend their time focusing on the short-term/minor objective and not enough time on the larger one.
Those people who learn how to work as a team and work play to each other's strengths to overcome individual weaknesses are going to rise up and generally perform better... but doing that requires work and effort (which can be problematic for people who prefer to stay casual and play how they way), but more importantly, it means that they have to sacrifice growing the E-Peen.

If they want to do this right, they ought to prevent a player from actually getting into CW until such time as they earn all 25 of their cadet achievements. This instills a reward system that a player can work towards.
World of Warships does the exact same thing. PvP gametypes are only unlocked AFTER the player achieves Level 5 following some battles against AI.

Most people are just so bad at being in a team they never really see it.

Apparently, "PUSH" means "Stand back and cover us with LRMs" in a couple of them. You can see where the confusion happens.
