Today I moved my monitor slightly to get a cord behind it, and when I looked at it again, it didn't look the same. I've been much less gentle before, and I didn't abuse it, nor press anything, nor bother any connections.

It's an AOC display, and I have a GTX 970 FTW GPU. I've attached some screens of how it looks now. I hope someone will be able to see what I'm talking about and offer some help.

I've gone through all the basics of setting the display up again, rolling back drivers and reinstalling them, looking through various settings, restarting the computer, etc.

Thanks to anyone who reply's!

EDIT: Edit: Fixed it.. In the monitor menu, I went in to the "Picture Boost" sub-menu. That's it. I didn't even click on an option, let alone change anything. I simply entered the sub-menu. So.. yea. Glad that's worked out. Perhaps this will help someone in the future.

Was this new cable a power cord?

Is the current signal cable heavily shield?

Greetings,

Firstly check or change the video cable between the card and monitor, not all cables and plugs are quality builds.

(also check the actual pins within the plugs, for bent or misaligned connectors)

(if the monitor and card allows look at changing the connector to 'HDMI or best quality Display port, better than DVI)

DVI connectors are being fazed out, industry standard going to 'Display Port'.

- next check that the 'default' resolution is correct. (default to the monitor)

- Next check the Nvidia control panel, specifically the video settings.

( under 'adjust video colour settings')

~ look at the tab 'Advanced'

- insure that the radial selection is set to 'with the Nvidia settings'

(look at the Dynamic range, should be set to 'Full (0-255)'. This is full white to full black refresh and not the washed out faster '16 to 245')

- Monitor companies like to tell you they have faster refresh rates but don't tell you that it's not full white to black, grey's to grey's and a 'duller' image.

Next check your 'Desktop settings', insure that a 'Theme' has not altered the background colours in any way.

Just some thoughts, good luck.

Yeah your screenshots don't show any issues, so it was clearly a monitor issue :)

I'm glad you got it fixed.
