I don't want to fight Free Worlders. We didn't want to fight them for CW 1, or CW 2, and honestly, we still don't want to. Heck, my response to finding myself in a match with Sandpit's PUG group was saying as much, House regulars aren't interested in it and I know for a fact that people have been handing money to merc units to hire on to Liao and attack Marik, regardless of what the usual players think. We've had multiple small merc units fed money- heck, being as I don't have a unit tag they get remarkably chatty - to stir up the border and exclusively do one thing (guess what that is, and it isn't "attack Davion") while mum's the word on their employer (hint: if there's a Liao hiring mercs, we need them for more than rabblerousing). And of course, that gets backed up with Davion rolling over and going "Oh, we won't attack you!". Of course they won't attack you, the FWL would turn them into Space Bacon.
Meanwhile, HHoD and company are sneaking planets out because the PUGs don't know what's going on except there's a big ol' Marik queue attacking a Liao controlled world, TCAF is essentially offline because of all this from what I can tell, and the only one that really benefits is the Federated Suns- because they know we wouldn't kiss up to a Fedrat if you offered us the position of First Lord and an army full of Clan 'Mechs.
I'd start getting into drops on Marik worlds and shooting people for treason, but it's against the TOS. If you're a Liao regular? Get your people with unit tags off Marik worlds and let them know it's verboten. Heck, if you can tell people in faction chat, do it there too. Davion planets are literally going untouched because there's piles of Mariks on Liao controlled planets and the PUGs are doing what the PUGs do- bored players looking for fights.
Then figure out which frickin' worlds we've taken from Marik, balance the appropriate losses from ours to even it out, and get back to Marik hitting Steiner or Davion, we can beat up Fedrats as is all we really want to do, and the drama gets shot in the head, put into a shallow grave, covered in lime, and used to fertilize a nice victory garden.
In fact, I'll start. How many Marik worlds has the Capellan Confederation taken at this point vs. FWL-counter-taken ones? Can we just call it even at that point so I can actually have decent units kicking anything with a Davion tag in the jimmies? Because really, we aren't into this and it shows.

but come on
admit that units and players haven't been having more fun over the past few weeks just goofing, get involved in battle reports, are fired up to be playing CW again.
There's several new faces on our TS server lately and many are saying this is some of the most fun they've had in CW.
So everything else aside, isn't that what CW is honestly about?
This is all in good fun. I don't actually and personally hate any of you units. We're just having some fun with CW again overall. We know the map will get reset again, we know Phase 3 is going to shake everything up. SO why don't we just have some fun right now?

Call it strange, but being the smallest faction in the game means you can keep one front up, and that's it.
We chose Davion. Davion players simply chose to pay some merc contracts on Liao, told them to attack Marik, and now we're stuck fighting both. We don't have the capacity to fight both. That's why we did diplomacy on one border (Marik) so we -could- have fun on the other (Davion).
The decision has been taken out of our hands by players that'll be here for a month, gone the next on a new contract, and for months afterwards we'll be cleaning up the mess. And right now, that also means we'll have to deal with the same thing -again- whenever we beat up Davion...because there are no protections against it. And people who don't into diplomacy will just get ticked off over time about the guys we allied with for two full phases of CW and we'll sit there getting bent over and reamed from both ends.
No, it is -not- fun. We can fight Marik. Or we can fight Davion. Or we can lose to both.
Three guesses what's happening? We've had our own faction basically hijacked into being a proxy for Davion because they can't actually do it themselves, because Marik + Liao + Kurita is apparently too much for Space America to fight honestly. Take it from someone who knows dirty tricks. It's happened, and the House regular players are suffering for it.

Alright, let's get something clear here. TCAF, which is the largest Liao unit, and regularly drops three companies on us every day between 12:00 am PST, to 12:00 pm PST, is still fighting. They weren't here today, but it was a Monday. Let's also make it clear, when I was fighting against TCAF, before the NAP broke, there were some scattered loyalist tags dropping with them when they, or any of these merc units, hit our worlds. The reason the ceasefire broke down is because members of Liao units, and the largest Liao Loyalst regiment dropped on us. It's that simple.
These Mercenary units didn't make TCAF do ****. TCAF still hits us every day, and trades worlds with us. TCAF still hits hard. Other loyalist Liao forces still drop on us, and should, given the naked face of Capellan hostility has long since been revealed. So we've got half a house trying to not fight us, and half a house trying to bitterly take every bit of land they can. Wah.
I sincerely doubt Davion hired any mercenaries, and you're incredibly paranoid to think so. You're just buying what a troll, a merc troll wants you to buy. Eseifer and Il Mechwarrior and all these other guys, are just trolls. They're trying to stoke the flames of conflict even hotter, and we're not falling for it.
Unlike people in House Liao, who fell for whatever ******** these mercs fed them. If we can't trust you guys to not listen to a bunch of mercs, then you're not worth trusting. What kind of idiots do you take us for? We didn't break the NAP, Liao loyalist units broke the NAP. Members of Liao loyalist units, dropped with mercs, and TCAF, hitting our worlds. TCAF is a loyalist unit.
Get used to getting hit, if this is how you guys deal with internal problems, childishly blaming the Federated Suns.

And we've all now seen that that we can be big kids with big kid pants when we do what our respective leaders tell us and not get sucked into rogue mercs' BS initiatives.
I will be honest I don't expect our NAP to last, but I will enjoy two-fronting for as long as I can...
And I agree this little bit of intrigue has given CW a bump, but the writers in this soap opera need to come up with better twists...

That Mercs talked TCAF into it is immaterial, they should have known better.

Ya kind of one of the issues we have over here on the Marik side, most the people all gung ho for fighting were not even fighting for Marik in cw1 or even 2. I dont plan on this getting better with all the new people everywhere.

I'm the official face and voice of TCAF, so next time pls coordinate with me any question. Or you can get caught on the eSeifer hook
I will say about the NAP. NAP is not broken, it is suspended.
In current CW phase, planets have no value - nobody loses. So TCAF had choosed to drop with liao mercs to have battles with strong units like iTX & Seraphime Regiment, because on Davion side was no real power to resist us.
When I had declared that in the Liao coordination topic, i was hoping that everything is clear for all.
Now i see that other mariks had taken advantage of the situation and will only ghost drop liao planets in NA prime-time when there are no Liao unit to resist. This is your choise, if you have pleasure to fight with turrets - do it.
And now I officially declare that TCAF will continue to drop against iTX and Seraphime Regiment until the next CW phase will be announced and new agreements will be concluded.

Let's be very clear about something
Ramses and I both personally jumped on to the Liao TS server a few times at different times trying to get anyone over there to talk to us about what was going on.
We were completely
totally
and utterly ignored
So let's not go painting some picture of Marik getting into a tizzy over a few forum posts. We just decided to liven up the forums a bit and have some fun with that.
This is VERY clearly and concisely Liao trying to dictate to Marik "we're going to take these planets because we said so". Nowhere was there ANY offer of exchange in planets, just "We're going take the planets"
8 Planets were taken
EIGHT planets
During the period of 8 planets being taken (rolling up out PUGs, solos, new players and ghost dropping I might add), we attempted SEVERAL times to talk to Liao leadership outside of the forums.
It was ignored. NOW you guys want to act like Marik just started pouncing on you because some forumite decided to have some fun and post some fluff.
I can assure you that the Marik war Council did not take into consideration the forums when making our decision to take OUR planets back. You know, those 8 planets Liao just decided were theirs? The ones INSIDE our border?
Yea those planets

It's not immaterial. It was a false flag operation by an outside influence that believed it would benefit from a broken House Marik/House Liao NAP. It's evidence of a mutual enemy, one which has proven impossible to identify with any certainty. This should alarm loyalists from both factions.
Many House Liao loyalists are disappointed that TCAF allowed themselves to be manipulated into opening a second, unsustainable front, but for now both sides seem to be enjoying both the drama and the battles. Therefore, this is likely to continue until Phase 3, when loyalists will have more reason to be organized and have more control over mercenary targets.

This is TCAF's Bread and Potato move during the 1st 3 CW iterations and have tried to do it this time as well...
Also anyone that doesn't know eSiefert runs interference for a certain large Unit and does their bidding doesn't pay any attention to the in game politics...

Wanderer, do you guys need intervention from the Draconis Combine for this situation?

I hate to say it, but your efforts were wasted. House Liao had so little central direction that it was easy for outside mercenaries to step in and start manipulating individual units. They saw the power vacuum, including the lack of a Liao Council at that point, and took advantage of it.
Phase 3 may see a renaissance in central Capellan government, but until then, negotiations must occur from planet to planet until Marik has recieved even compensation for the 8 planets it lost.
I'd say it is going well for you, and if House Liao is losing planets to House Davion in the meantime, then that's a problem of our own devising.

Honestly I think Liao is fine...
DC should do DC's thing.. Hoping more NA units see that Liao is the place to be this season for non-stop IS vs. IS action during the NA Timezone.
Liao will not DIE !!

Or you can hire my unit; we ask what our employer wants and stick to designated targets. And we're (relatively) inexpensive.
But not for 5 weeks. I already signed our next contract.

Sorry but I'm enjoying so much in reading this stuff. Sure probably is beta 2.5, it's not the goal of current faction play, but it's more interesting than other boring discussions....
So please let's continue this role play!!!
And do not forget that it's the future of beta 3.0!
Let's have a look!!!
