I know there was another thread on this forum bemoaning the fact that the quirks make the WHM almost equal to an Atlas in structure.
You sure you're just not coming up against significant focused fire?
Damn near ANY 'mech feels 'squishy' when being fired at by 3 or 4 enemies at the same time...

Gotta up your armor if you haven't already. I near max my armor except the legs (51 on each leg I think), but pretty close to maximum overall.
Only played a few rounds in the Warhammer last night, but my builds felt plenty tough. Certainly not weak. No better or worse than my Cataphracts. Seems fine.
Oh and the Black Knight is considered thin skinned by some? Never knew. I run XLs in some of my Knights because they seem tanky as hell and spread damage really well. To each his/her own I guess.

No it's not just me saying it. I mean almost any mech can take quite a few gauss rounds if it gets spread out. You know, one hits the arm, 3 hit the torso, one hits the side. But all in all this mech is just weak.
Honestly I have to agree with PGI following a board game here and not that actual humans are playing. I remember all the other Mechwarriors you are in a 50 foot tall 50,60,70 whatever ton mech and it would take a BEATING... this whole thing of people dying so fast is kind of lame. I hate to complain it gets old, but PGI really needs someone to come in and balance this whole game out because it's completely wonky. Some things are good, most are terrible.....

Yes, armor is maxed out. All but my legs. I think my legs are at about 45 each. But everything else is maxed, front is maxed out, only like 6 points in the back and same goes for the side torso and arms are maxed out. My arms blow off like cheesecake.

Um...let's see they doubled all mech armor and internals back in CB, and have been handing out structure buffs like candy for over 6 months now... yup, no adjustments here.......
Big difference between hyperbole for effect...and just spouting wrong nonsense.

and low arms, means more exposure.... such is the facts of life with a Warhammer. Rifleman, will probably come across as strangely durable...because it won't have to expose itself as much. *shrugs*
TBH, I always hear "this mech is too weak" (Zeus and Black Knight were prime examples) until people start getting them mastered, get their builds sorted.... then most folks quietly go back into the woodwork..... (though there are always a few laughable idiots who still want to claim a Zeus is bad to XL, etc).
WHM might prove to not be as tough as the MAD..... but think we need more than 24 hours of kneejerk reactions to tell.

HOWEVER, when I put TWO gauss rounds, and ERLL's into a CT that's ALREADY open-red, and the fugger just shrugs it off, and I have to chase his *** down to put another couple rounds in him...
DAMN!
I call that "tanky"...

Newsflash, it's not the mech, it's the pilot. I have had a ton of fun with this mech yesterday and had more than one dominating performance in it. Oh and I'm running an XL engine too. Granted, it's no Marauder when it comes to taking ability, but all that means is YOU need to alter YOUR playstyle to fit what the mechs strengths and weaknesses are.

9 Enegry hardpoints
6 Energy 2 Ballistic 1 Missile hard point
4 Energy 4 Ballistic 1 Missile hard point
6 Energy 3 Missile hardpoints
For the same reason that Clan mechs don't get armor / structure quirks is why this mech doesn't get them.
The mech has an amazing twist, cockpit mounted close to the ballistic and energy torso hardpoints, and looks nothing shy of amazing. The mech is fine, far from DOA. Just get used to having a high amount of firepower with a moderate amount of durability.
