Reminded me both good and bad of some of the old MW4 maps. I have always liked the part where your force moves cautiously around probing for the enemy and then uses the terrain to advance to the range you want. Have not really had that on any of the MWO maps to date.
Scouts actually have scouting to do. Not just in finding the enemy, but in looking at the folds in the snow to come up with a way the rest of the team can get in position.
A flank attack by a lance split off from the other eight actually has a chance of being effective.
it was a thrilling scary moment when I topped a small rise and saw the enemy lined up and facing my way some 1500 meters out. Tons of death marching right at me. I went down into the next fold and made my next decision on direction of travel very carefully - considering I was not sure which way was better cover from the brief moment I was high enough.
The brightness is so high compared to the others that all I see is glare unless I go thermal. A downside. Can't see the snow folds in normal light conidtions. Real life like - but on the slopes I can put on sun glassess so I can see the ridges and ruts. In the game my only choice is to go monocrome with heat sensor vis. a downside.
Yes, people have different styles of play they enjoy. I get that. But I feel llike this map gives a better feel of manuevering war machines into position and an armored attack movement than the other maps. Just feels more B Tech to me.
Now if we can only get our tunnel or big city only map for those days we have the itch to brawl face to face.
Edit: I forgot to mention I liked that in 6 matches the main battle happened in 6 different places. On the other maps I know the two places the fight almost always happen and everyone just goes there. Boring.
