Confucious say "Those who only follow the visible Dorito, get the invisible Dorito in the butt."

Kappa - nailed it.

Following Dorito... Dorito... Dorito... following Dorito wherever it may go...

Had this happen bad yesterday. We were on top platform of Crimson when a light spotted an enemy scout at sadle. I ran to saddle and took a few pot shots, but noticed about 4 or more additional team mates cresting saddle all running after the scout (and too slow to catch him). As they were going down the other side of saddle, I team chatted "please don't chase the squirel" The response was 2 additional units cresting saddle and running after in pursuit. I followed because...well crap, more than half our team split off. I then typed "lets group up in the lower city". My response was..."They are attacking us from the rear" The 3 or so teammates that DIDN'T go over saddle and didn't want to group up decided to have a little party of their own and were overwhelmed on the platform. Did they expect everyone to run back? we were half way across the map by then.

Overall it didn't go as bad as it could have. I mean, we lost, but not rolled. I still don't think anyone actually got the squirrel.

I guess the frustrating thing is people always promote communication like it will solve the problems, but in PUGlandia, typing in team chat might as well be typing random key strokes sometimes.

*sigh*

P.S. What is the deal with people stopping at the base of the dish platform on HPG manifold and not going up top (Same thing with the center platform on Mining Collective). It has cover and the enemy is funneled onto 2 ramp entrances (HPG) and 1 ramp entrance (Mining). If your team has a mech or two up there and has a presence before the enemy, push up there. Don't hang at the bottom all huddled on or next to a ramp. I don't get that. It's like you are waiting to get ambushed from the top or both sides of the ramps.

And it is super damn annoying. "We are getting flanked guys, D4 is hot, turn around!" said 10 times, no one on minimap even shifts their mech. Team proceeds to get over run. Jesus christ this is getting frusterating being the first and only one to see these things happening. And it is happening all the time!

Solo queue is derp city for a reason.

I used to pilot recon in the solo queue as this is one of my strong roles I perform within my unit. I just stopped bothering in the solo queue.

For whatever reason solo queue players can rarely make use of any intel I provide.

I would say something like "5 enemy mechs grid Hotel 9 moving toward Golf 9" Followed by as much detail about what mechs were present in a concise manner "two Direwoves two Marauders one Stormcrow"

Like clockwork I see some idiot steer at the blob of enemy all by his lonesomes so now I have to say "don't advance into grid Hotel 9 to many enemy" Followed by "really stop moving they will kill you"

"(Redname) has killed (teammate)"

Me: "told ya so"

Then the next derper turns his mech to run into the kill box.

I do think many find it hard to look at a minimap.

Sometimes I wonder if the ability to use a minimap is actually a rare exceptional trait like photographic memory or ambidexterity. Posted Image

MWO solo que is probably one of the worst if not THE worst place where you can learn any strategies or how to play the game. The astounding amout of players be it new or "veterans" live by only ONE rule, "**** you got mine". If you are in a slow mech you can be damn sure you will be left behind for the enemy team to pick you off easilly because **** you, if you are in a suport medium that is on the larger side like centurioon you can bet your *** Assaults and heavies will use you as a meat shield hiding behind you because **** you, if you report that you are getting flanked but has the misfortune of running in a trial mech no one will listen to you because you are a noob, have no right to talk and generaly **** you, if a light mech runs rings around you and you are damaged you can alwasy count on your own team killing you just to get that light because **** you, If you found a decent spot where you can pop out, haras the enemy and pop into a cover you will always be blocked from behind by a team mate because - you've guessed it- **** you got mine. I have not learned one single thing that could be usefull in a TEAM based game, but i did learn how to be an ashole and how to "get mine".

The thing is that a couple of players might very well see and understand but since the rest of the team seems oblivious they wait because no one wants to be the first into the meat grinder.

I do it myself. 8 of my guys are buzy with a Locust and the entire enemy assault lance comes stomping around the corner from behind, I get the hell out of Dodge and join the Locust hunters if I can. I tried to save the team one to many times resulting in me dead with no kills and no c-bills to show for my effort so now I am looking out for #1.

There you go. Thats how they think. Let the others die, i want my kill and damage first.

Map awareness is something I struggle with sometimes, unfortunately. If I'm sniping someone or watching for an opportunity to sneak to the next bit of cover, my eyes locked on the terrain in front of me. There may as well not be a minimap or chat box. I can't focus on two things at once so I focus on what I have in front of me. The sad part is, even though I know I'm not good with map awareness, most of the time I do better with it then half my team.
