Seems to me that this (hiding at the end of a skirmish match) should be considered as something that could be grieved. Since giving their position away is considered report-able, you should not do that. It seems wrong for one person at the end of the match to hold everyone hostage waiting out the clock.

The KDR must be protected.

If it bothers you, then report them.

Usually it is lame but it is not a major concern. As long as they don't shut down there really is noting that can or should be done about it. Can always just leave the match if it bothers you that much.

It's painful, had one last night 7 minutes left 5v1 finally found him with 2 minutes to go, also had a terrible score so just not a team player. But tried to fight so no report options.

If the lone survivor is on my team and is at least trying to fight back, then I let'em go. If he just shut down or is standing still with ECM cover in some far-off corner, then I'll tell the other team where he is. The odds of him reporting ME are remote and the odds that it will lead to some kind of ban for me are damn near 0. I've only had to narc on someone like this 6 or so times in 2015, so it's not very common.

Sorry, hiding and shutdown. I should have specified. As far as reporting, as I said, there is no option in the ingame report system for that behavior. Of course you can just leave the match. But some new players have limited mech choices like myself and have no choice but to wait or use a trial mech.

It is not that big a deal, I just thought a choice for it should be added to the ingame report selection.

I haven't seen anyone actually run out the clock in over a year. Mostly I see the last mech run, hide, find enemy, shoot, run, and hide, find enemy, shoot, run, and it continues like this usually you only get away once or twice but not more than that and it is game over because either you died or you actually won the match.

I feel the OP's pain a bit and oddly have had several games in the last month of someone playing "run out the clock". Yeah, kinda sucks but I found that makes a great time to top up the beverage or bio break since there's nothing to spectate.

Meh, kdr is just really important to some people I suppose. Worst match I sat through was just over 6 minutes.. and I guess he didn't want reported for non-part so in the last 20 seconds or so he powered up and dashed out to trade a shot at a passing mech.. and he died... with I kid you not... 3 seconds left. facepalm

I made an impromptu drinking game out of it, take a drink any time an enemy mech gets near searching for him... was fun.

Anyhow, if they were playing most the match and ran off to hid at the end I don't believe it warrants any reporting, just use the break to go get some cookies or something Posted Image

I've never heard of anyone that has had action taken against them for giving out the loc of someone being a coward at the end of the match hiding.

The odds of me reporting you if we are on the same match is 100%. Why? Team treason is a reportable offense.

Your only course of action is to report the player to PGI, not reveal his position.

That might be the case, for now. But, do you really want to be in that infamous first batch of banned offenders if it does happen? Posted Image

I've been known to stalk the enemy as sole survivor, to the amusement of my team.

Notice how the words "might" and "may" are used, and not "is".

And as I wrote in that thread:

Maybe the game should have a command that makes the mech get down on it's knees, bow it's head, and put its arms behind its back as if preparing for execution via a shot from behind. Posted Image

OP this topic has been brought up numerous times before i suggest you check out the search bar for them. This has been debated many times, people are aloud to hide and run out the clock, if they are dc or afk then its okay to give away their position or report them for afk/disconnect if they are the last one remaining. I would say don't play skirmish however since they added voting and removed game mode options then i suggest you leave and play another match if you are dead. Hes alive your not so he is entitled to play the match how he wants its up to the enemy team to try and find him. He is not holding you hostage you can always leave and play another mech.

With the updated CoC this is considered griefing and is report-able. And there there is an report function on the player screen (tab key) Just click on their name while on the player screen and you'll have report options.

Actually, it is non-participation and is a violation of the ToS. Therefore it IS reportable. If PGI gets enough similar reports about the same player they will ban them. It is usually a short-term ban initially, but gets progressively longer.

Once a match is over go to the team stats, click on the player's name and a report menu appears.

As a general rule this is only acceptable behavior in Conquest mode when the team of the person who is hiding will win by cap points if he doesn't die. Otherwise report it so that this behavior stops.

oh okay.
But is it non-participation if they did decent dmg and then powered down to not die to the enemy?
