It is not that big a deal, I just thought a choice for it should be added to the ingame report selection.

Meh, kdr is just really important to some people I suppose. Worst match I sat through was just over 6 minutes.. and I guess he didn't want reported for non-part so in the last 20 seconds or so he powered up and dashed out to trade a shot at a passing mech.. and he died... with I kid you not... 3 seconds left. facepalm
I made an impromptu drinking game out of it, take a drink any time an enemy mech gets near searching for him... was fun.
Anyhow, if they were playing most the match and ran off to hid at the end I don't believe it warrants any reporting, just use the break to go get some cookies or something

The odds of me reporting you if we are on the same match is 100%. Why? Team treason is a reportable offense.
Your only course of action is to report the player to PGI, not reveal his position.

That might be the case, for now. But, do you really want to be in that infamous first batch of banned offenders if it does happen?

Notice how the words "might" and "may" are used, and not "is".
And as I wrote in that thread:

With the updated CoC this is considered griefing and is report-able. And there there is an report function on the player screen (tab key) Just click on their name while on the player screen and you'll have report options.

Actually, it is non-participation and is a violation of the ToS. Therefore it IS reportable. If PGI gets enough similar reports about the same player they will ban them. It is usually a short-term ban initially, but gets progressively longer.
Once a match is over go to the team stats, click on the player's name and a report menu appears.
As a general rule this is only acceptable behavior in Conquest mode when the team of the person who is hiding will win by cap points if he doesn't die. Otherwise report it so that this behavior stops.

oh okay.
But is it non-participation if they did decent dmg and then powered down to not die to the enemy?
