I know a few people in their same tier that play often and have not moved. The always make it to tier 1 might work but how many years are we talking about?

I see lots of people have a hard time making 200 dmg in a game. So I can't see them moving up.

Seems to me that if you are doing so well in losses that it makes up for the fact that you lost more than you won that night, you probably don't belong in the tier you are in.

There is no way I belong in tier 1. Not until others who don't really belong there have filled up their bars as well and swelled the tier. There will be people in tier 1 with sub 500 win percentages eventually, at first I thought that was impossible now I realize it is inevitable.

The tier system and the matchmaker are fighting against a relatively low player population and the need to create games in a reasonable amount of time.

Tier 1 can play against Tier 4. Tier 5 can play against Tier 2. Tier 3 can play against anybody.

What this means is that the tiers aren't distinct enough to actually allow for skill separation. So except for players who are true outliers on the low end of the range, eventually everyone will end up in Tier 1.

Unless something has changed, tier 1 cannot play against 4 or 5.

It isn't particularly difficult to keep an eye on what tiers your being matched with, not everyone has their tier public, but enough do, and i have been matched with tier 4 and 5 players, with the obvious results.
W/L is a meaningless stat, as its purely decided on RNGesus, f*ck that!.

200 damage and hitting "R" a couple of times and you go up in a win assuming that 200 damage got you a couple of assists.

Not to mention, in theory those pilots will also get better at the game. Even so, mathematically they will still make it to Tier 1 eventually. Whether MW:O is still around by then is another matter altogether.

If you say so. I'm rarely matched against anyone I recognize from the forums so I couldn't say one way or another.

The point is still valid regardless.

It is nice that even noobs go up, because at least I have some easy kills at T2...

Interesting. Bet that is what T1's say about your Tier... LOL ;)

Despite how easy it is to move up in tiers, there are still folks around here that can't and are stuck at t5 and t4. I'm glad they are.

I would like however a way to for players to move down in tier even on a win.

Well then just stop "carrying" ****** players in the Group queue ffs. ;) That is where all the waste come from...

Why do you hate yourself so? Do you need to talk about it?

Hate? I don't hate myself. I love myself. That's why I don't go to group queue. I don't have to deal with drama that humans create when they're in clans together. I don't have to deal with all the crybabies, whiners, complainers, terribads, balloon heads and prima donnas. I just... play.

And right now, that's all I want. I can't handle the stress the former creates.

I have a feeling that your position within a tier is also a factor in the average. It is just as easy for a computer to average 2.75 as it is to average 2. People like easy numbers so that is what we get. Even if I am wrong (easily could be), the psr system keeps the absolute worse from playing the absolute best, which is better than what we had before. Even if someone is BAD and moving up, they should at least have Radar Derp by the time they make t2. I would rather have that person on my team then a pure beginner without it.

This is my alt account and really would like a way to move down more easily, I have a hard time not moving up on a loss. The only time I have gotten a down arrow is when I went and capped on polar crap just to troll based on objectives.

There are people that have never moved up from T4, so it must at least kind of work.

Are you sure you are refering to the solo drops and not to the group drops?
In group drops any group constitution is allowed. Thus T5 players dropping in a group with T1 players get matched against whatever is there on the MM queue.
In solo drops there is T4+T5 and T1+T2+T3 bins. I, with my T3, haven't been matched against T4 on a single occasion, I see T2 fairly often.
So, I would welcome EoM screenshots (blur the scores and kills but leave the names to avoid name&shame) to see if I'm wrong. Right now, I bet you are mistaken.

It would be nice if PGI added your tier on the scoreboard after the match. Would be helpful to the players, but might bring to light flaws in PGI's MM system.

I'm talking about the solo queue, no-one in my unit currently drops in group queue as they are generally doing CW, which i play the occasional game of, but i find going up against teams of randoms tedious.

Like I said I seen lots of people not able to make the 200. If you put a rewl tier 5 player in a tier 1 game theyre not going to hit even 50dmg. So even with a win they stay even. There has been lots of people who have dropped back down in the tiers and now only a 1 way systems.
