Conquest is actually the most unbalanced mode for Polar Highlands. The cap points are to far apart currently making the result of the game entirely dependant on the play of the light mech pilots.

Conquest is not the most unbalanced mode to play on Polar.Conquest is the only battle mode to play on that map that is any fun the other modes are so boring most just sit bunch up one place and camp boring battles.Conquest mode spreads out all mechs not just light fast mechs.Got to defend the caps mechs use the full map way more fun than the other modes. Peaks is same way Conquest is only mode to play too on that map.
If you have spread out your mechs you've broken one of the main strategic principles to being successful which is overwhelming your opponent with numbers advantage in engagements. You will lose very quickly regardless of caps. The only seperate force should be a small detachment of lights that make sure the caps stay even or better.

Camping doesn't work in this map because there's no dominant position to camp, a good team will maneuver and surround you.
If you're one of those lights that like running around and standing in squares, you're in heaven. You also have no balls and should have your game mode selection back so we don't have to deal with you.
When I'm in my light, I'm there to fight, and capping points on Polar on Conquest literally takes the entire game, I'm not doing it. So good luck team. Those points need to be a little closer.

When I'm playing a light, my goal is to win the game. On most maps that means staying in the fight. On Polar Alpine Highlands I accept what I have to do for my team to assure a win. Not run around in the fight to get enough damage so my tier points doesn't go down when my team loses. Until PGI realizes the caps are to far apart (probably about 6 months from now) I will continue doing what it takes to win games.

Dont need to be closer whole point is to spread out all mechs in battles so they not all bunch up.
Ok dude. I give up trying to explain it. I will just say, they don't play like that in the higher tiers unless they lose.

I don't care about stats or tier in the least. I care about having fun. The problem on Polar is that keeping up with caps against an enemy light who's going for a cap win literally takes 100% of your time. Nope. GG. I'd rather have a good fight and lose than stand in boxes all match and win. I would actually rather lose 10 close games in a row than win 10 stomps in a row. I like good fights.
I think, as you do, that the cap points should be brought in a touch, but I understand if they're left alone. So many spineless light pilots complained that capping wasn't an option, and this level is their wet dream. So if they get 1 map out of 8, or whatever we have, I can accept that.
And I also agree to how good teams play conquest. Secure a 3rd point, or at least stay equal, deathball till you kill them or spread out for a point to secure the win if the enemy is hiding. This other guy thinking conquest spreads out teams doesn't have a clue.
