4 mechs cover every map and how you play every game mode for that map? And you say you can do that for every weight class? I asked before for specific examples and you passed then, here is another chance for you to show you can actually deal in specifics.
No you get 4 mechs per weight class so you build 16 mechs to cover most maps.
Light drop deck 4 mechs. Easy drop deck build plan is 2 cold map, 2 hot map, and within there either separate by range or speed. Neural maps can run either. So 4 choices for each map, instead of the one selection it is now.
Same thing with mediums, Heavies, Assaults, perhaps with different criteria for the builds such as alpha size or DPS.

I would rather have 54 metas. You know why? Because then there isn't just one. Many metas means no meta. Can you see that?
We don't have "one" meta now. There are a handful of top tier mechs in each weight class. They can be further optimized when you know what map you are playing, as I said you can see in CW now and in league matches when the map is known.

Now put down specifics and then everyone can give you five, fifteen, fifty options better than the ones you give. We can use your examples to show how this idea is the meta destroyer. And by destroying the meta you open up the map voting. Trying to connect the dots for you.
And your complaint is a fleet of mechs? How is that a bad thing for the game? You do know how PGI makes its money right?
What are your meta killers now? Creating more specific meta isn't going to breed more meta killers. What is the clan meta killer for the ERLL Battlemaster 1S and Cicada X5 in Boreal CW?
And you must have failed in reading comprehension, or you didn't even read my previous response about the fleet of mechs:

It solves nothing and makes things worse because only the people with a fleet of mechs and mechbays will have all the necessary meta mechs for any encounter. Your 'good strategy and planning' means more money for PGI (players need more mechs and more configs to be competitive) and a greater separation from hardcore players and casual/new players who don't have that fleet of mechs waiting. People leaving the DWs and slow mechs behind on Polar is the exact opposite of what you are proposing - leaving them is *bad* strategy and the team with the better strategy does win.
It doesn't affect me at all, I have enough mechs to build map specific mechs in every weight class several times over.

I guess you never read my criticism of the tournament Russ is trying to get us to want. It will be two teams running the same builds and tactics and it will be boring as all get out because of the way things are.
If you think competitive play is equivalent to 99% of regular drops then you must also think the stock market is equal to the economy. People always say "well in Tier Blah". Guess what, most people aren't in that tier (they will be eventually due to PSR, but that is another subject).
But it sounds like, according to you we should all sell all our mechs but one because that is all you need. And you still don't realize you are making my point?
Keep posting, it is actually helping!
No because the 'same builds and tactics on both sides' boring thing you are complaining about above would move into the public queues because that is what would win more often than not. Team A has 6 players with map optimized builds, 6 fun builds and team B has 12 map optimized builds - who do you think is going to win in most cases?
And no, I don't think that solo drops are equal to competative play, far from it. The skill differentials in solo drops are so across the board it only exacerbates equipement differentials. Skill + better optimized builds = a greater imbalance in the teams. I'm sorry you can't see that and that you mistakenly think I am somehow proving your point.
Having the right mech for the right job at all times means you won't see people bringing hot lazer boats on Terra Therma and having to play smarter and use more strategy because of that handicap. They'll bring a ballistic build, or a cooler running energy build and not have to worry about it. It removes the in game strategy and instead moves it more into the mech lab and the drop deck selection.
