I think the Warhammer is a great mech. If you as a player keep getting your arse handed to you then perhaps rethink how you're playing it???

I've taken my -6R through some great matched with dual PPC's, 3/SPL, 2 MG, and SRM6, (DHS and FF), and a 300 STD engine w/ full upper armor. Using the torso twist to spread the damage around and not treating it like a 100 ton mech is the key to survival (as well as dishin gout as much damage as possible).

Ultimately, MWO is filled with a lot of good mechs, a few "1337" mechs, and a few sub-par mechs. Find the better attributes of each mech and enjoy!

I disagree. Been running XL builds and I'm often alive a lot longer than expected.

Might be the pilot, but I do just fine in pretty much every other 60 ton + mech I take my hand to. I brought out my summoner tonight (the worst mech in my stable in my opinion) and as luck would have it, ran up on a Warhammer 6R. We were both full health and both had been skirting the outskirts of the fight looking for stragglers. I run Streak SR 6 and Streak SR 4 in one arm, 2 ER medium lasers in the other arm, and an LRM 20 in the torso of my summoner. I ran into the warhammer and achieved a lock at 220 meters. Hit him with all three weapon groups. cored him in the first shot. He hit me with everything he fired as well FYI. He did 8% damage to me. Hit him again with my lasers and he popped. I would expect that the warhammer or any other 70ish ton chassis would have held up more like the summoner in that exchange. It wasn't even fight and even though I won, I felt gypped of a decent victory.
I actually go looking for Warhammers now because they are so easy to take out.
