Boom. Close the thread. j/k
Besides 4 AC5, you can try out 2 UAC5's with 2 ERLL. I've been having luck with that. BLACK WIDOW

BLACK WIDOW (default armor, adapt as it pleases you)
The LPL get a nice range bonus and if you engange in a brawl blind them with those MGs and rip the internals apart as soon as their armor is gone.
Compared to the other variants which I run with STD-engines I have to say it's no big difference.

Hamster Huey Brawler:

2 LBX-10s (100 rounds), 1 SRM 6 (200 missiles), and 1 large laser pointer to poke people with.
Huey runs fairly cool (except on Therma and Caustic) which gives you the ability to throw 41.9 points of alpha at the reds all day long. Combining this with a sprightly 74.6 kph from the 300XL engine (after speed tweak) and surprising maneuverability means you can juke anything that you can't beat in to submission. The fact that your two main sources of damage are shotguns means snapshots tend to be fairly effortless.
The main thing you need to worry about is spreading the damage across your mech because of the bullet magnet some jerk stuck in your center torso. other than that it plays like a pretty stand brawler that has the stamina to regularly put out 700 plus damage if your smart about your engagements and I even pulled off my highest damage game ever in it with 1223 damage when all was said and done.
I honestly think if I hadn't started trying for the leader boards yesterday and had more time this setup could get me to top 25 before my lack of skill would let it down.
Hope this helps!

I have run the quad ac5 build and that's very good too but had to shave off quite a bit of armour to get enough ammo.

I really like it.
I started with 4ac5, but then..... higher dps with 2ac5/2uac5! A lot of fun.
