If you read the Developer Q&A #1 --

Is the trailer for the game really in game footage? Because if it is, then the game will be amazing!

[PAUL] The 2009 video teaser is not the trailer for MechWarrior Online. It was a technology and inspiration piece that we created and yes it was all in-game footage. DevBlog0 and the FAQ on this site explain in detail the creation of the video and what it was used for.

Paul stated it was in-game footage of MW5, it just is not the same trailer for MW:O. With that said, the topic goes back to the question asked by the OP.

The only thing that scares me in those demos is I see a lot of lighting, a lot of shading, a lot of motion capture...

What I don't see is a lot of destructible terrain, weather or physics effects.

If you're referring to the MW5 trailer, you mean outside of the apartment building collapse and gradual destruction of the parking garage, right?

If you mean the CE3, one of the longer tech videos ends in a rainy medieval setting where they demonstrate large scale destructible terrain and the physics of the rubble. I believe it's at the end of this link here:

http://www.ign.com/v...evat-yerli-demo

There is the video of how they modeled currents and how particles interact with them, as well as simple particle demonstration and other features.

Yes 1:44 is very nice, would love to see more of that, especially damage modeling.

Like this perhaps:
