It pains me to leave hardpoints unused, or so much rear armour, but One must persevere in the face of personal preference in order to suggest mech that newfolk may learn on.

A simple two button affair the mech can fire ACs with the left mouse, an six medium lasers with the right. A tonne of ams ammo should help longevity. Quirked medium lasers with Auto Cannon backup should make this machine a mech to be reckoned with, even in the hands of the inexperienced.

Gman already nailed it. Best variant and weapons.

Only possible changes (besides the more beginner friendly back armor distributions) would be a giant XL (which is in turn again less beginner friendly I guess).

This is a bit of a brawler. While I find it distasteful to leave slots unused, with the arms empty this BLR can help a new player learn proper shielding.

2 Large Laser in the highest possible mounts. 4 Medium Lasers, 2 SRM 6. AMS + BAP.

65kph fast. Comes with nice Mobility Quirks like +30% Turnrate.

3 LPL + 3 ML/MPL on 2C/3S version with STD 315-350 / XL 380+ , yeah.
But i'd like to suggest an alternative BLR-1S or same with huge XL

Designed for the versatile champion pilot, a stnd engine for superior durability in and on the battlefield.
Friendlies need help with enemies at range? no problem. LRM tactical support fire and lrg laser burn will keep enemies locked in corners.
Pissed-off too many fast rollers and they're heading your way?..couple of mp's and 4's to make them regret face hugging you.
