Seems like there aren't very many players on CW anymore? Any insight to why that is?

CW sucks and wait for CW3. That is the general thought for many.

FW needs more Ghost Drops and longer waits for even less rewards to get to the sweet spot.

Player numbers for MWO in general have been dwindling away steadily since the Steam launch. Since only a relatively small fraction of players is willing to play CW, and since CW requires a certain minimum of players to be viable (for whatever the term "viable" is worth when talking about this mess) activity has largely died down.

CW3 may revive the mode for a while, but I predict it is going to be a flash in the pan, since none of CW's and MWO's deeper problems are going to be tackled.

The problem is that people keep begging for the game to be continually face lifted instead of actually developed.

Personally I'm on holiday but was active in CW up until Sunday night, I'm hoping the patch on Tuesday will bring a big influx of players and more importantly be good enough to keep them interested.

I'd play more CW, but the fact still remains that it is a crappy game mode - pretty much devoid of tactics and gameplay, consisting of funnels, tonnage grinds and not much fun. My potato PC delivering close to single digit framerates during fire exhanges doesn't make it better..

It's dead because someone has to lose and losers won't keep playing

Lack of interest.

Or dominated by big teams that keep winning.

Upcoming patch, not enough opposition, no reason to keep playing, no value of planets.

But me? I keep playing because I like taking planets, even if there is no value to them as of yet.

less players mean bad queues and long waits which results in less players.

repeat this for a while and you are where we are now.

the steamlaunch created a few weeks where newbies would jump into CW in trial mechs, frustrating their teammates, their enemies, and themselves. They have now gone and we are back to where we were.

I for one am waiting with for CW 3.

I will have a large platter of Fried Fish Tacos. 6 Pack of Budweiser and some Wild Turkey.

I will need those three things to wash away my tears of sadness.

Please pray for me DropShipJesus....

I just don't want to have to wait 20 minutes between each drop or feel tied down to play a bunch of matches once I get the group you need to enjoy CW.

Not sure what the big deal is. CW is working exactly the way PGI wanted it to.

Beginning game players with beginning game equipment in end game content. What did you think was going to happen?

The new guys are there to be harvested like baby seals. They're SUPPOSED to lose most of the time. They're moving targets for the paying customers...aka the organized units.

Between the waves of people that never even bothered with the tutorial, we've got a queue system that keeps you perpetually locked in "transferring pilot and mechs" mode for 20-30 minutes at a time....you've got yourself a quality product.

Since PGI put all generators in exactly ONE place, right next to the main objective the whole game mode has become a big skirmish with longer waiting time, and you can get that in Quick play faster.

The best answer I have to that is that PGI failed to define their gamemodes. Community Warfare a gamemode about units conquering planets is dominated a lot more by solo players than it is by actual units and of those solo players there are two types. One who is a little bit more coordinated and willing to work with their team to win and one who are more lone wolf players who lack coordination and cooperation.

As those two types of solo players get mixed in the same groups, the lone wolf players vastly bring down the other players making solo teams very uncoordinated. For solo players who lose a lot of there games to both solo teams and organized groups it sucks a lot of fun out of the gamemode and organized groups who typically get matched up against these solo teams have almost no competition to speak of and that sucks out the fun for them.

Quickplay should have been the goto gamemode for lone wolf solo players but PGI decided to continue to let 12 man's and groups larger than 4 to keep playing on it after they released Community Warfare and private lobbies which makes no sense and all those units and grouped players that wanted to play together in groups larger than 4 should be playing Community Warfare instead filling out those solo teams with actual coordinated players or more 12 man's for the other organized groups to match up against to get more competition out of the gamemode. Instead Community Warfare is stuck in a endless loop of solo players suffering and grouped players getting bored.

Oh DropShipJesus, may your perfect concentrated aim never fail, protect the hiding masses under your umbrella of protection, and strike down any that dare look your way.

I now have tears of sadness knowing that you need Budweiser to help wash away your tears of sadness ...
