I use 4 UAC5s on both the 1P and MX90 because there aren't a whole lot of better options for it sadly (STD300 as well). The 1R is interesting, I kinda wish it had more structure quirks so it could be more of a mini Atlas, I run it with a STD325, 2 AC5, 4 ASRM6 so long as you don't use the AC5s as poke weapons you should be good, alternatively you could run 2 LBX10 and 3 ASRM6 instead, but I refuse to use LBX10s.

Mauler with a STD300 can run 4xUAC5 with 11 tons of ammo. KGC moving at the same speed (STD335) only gets 9-10 tons of ammo. Maulers ballistic mounts and cockpit location are vastly superior, and it has shield arms. Its really not a contest... imo the only use for the UAC5 KGC now is to run a big XL, since you cant do that with the Mauler.
But with 1 UAC jammed, the remaining 3xUAC5 have more dps than 5xAC5, even with 2 jammed its 80% of the DPS.
The Mauler isn't even close to the KGC for a UAC/5 carrier.
First, the Mauler lack arm mounts for its UAC/5's. Why does this matter?
-Alpine: You can't shoot far down or far up when dealing with the hill
-HPG: You can't shoot up or down on the central platform when dealing with tunnels
-Canyon Network: You can't shoot up or down when on different levels fighting mechs close
-Crimson Straights: You can't shoot up or down when on different levels fighting mechs on the platform by tunnel
Second:
Comparing two builds, the KGC carrying 300 rounds has 2 more DHS, and as long as you know how to fire your UAC/5's, you will hit your heat cap a lot faster with 10 DHS than 12 DHS. If you are constantly jamming and never running into the heat cap w/ 10 DHS, then a player would probably do better using AC/5's because they aren't using their UAC/5's right.
300 round 4 UAC/5 Mauler 10 DHS

to a 300 round 4 UAC/5 + 2 ML + 12 DHS KGC

Third: The primary advantage the mauler has would be the MX90's velocity at 25% which is better than the 000's 15% velocity for sniping and the MX90 has a 5% cool down advantage compared to the 000's.

-15% CD + Higher mount points to clear cover and teammates. 1R + 1P which are the best 2 to use for quad uAC.
Also you never shoot your teammates arms off because you are as wide as a barn. <- huge bonus to focus fire and spreading out incoming damage.
Other map issues are solved by positioning yourself based on your weapons loadout, not really that difficult to do or maintain in most matches even on the quick play ones, on the CW maps its all about breaking cover (most of them up shallow hills, or over low terrain) and offloading damage in tight quarters with your team.
Maulers also have 120 armor + internals to direct damage in the arms without losing their weapons, and can very easily do that against ranged mechs - where the KGC has a massive profile that's going to suck almost all of it up on the CT/ST.

The MX90 is amazing with both 4UAC5 and 5AC5, clearly superior to King Crab for a pure dakka build. Same speed, tankier hitboxes, pokier and tighter hardpoints, shield arms and much better quirks. It's not even close.
The King Crab can do some really cool builds with XL and support weapons though, like XL350 with 4UAC5 and 1ERPPC for example is one I really like.

-15% CD means even lock-ups don't take all that long to clear out. AC5s don't really need the velocity increase as they fly plenty fast for their range.

Jam time is 5 seconds no matter what.
That just causes a faster double tap (because faster recycle)

6 AC5s or bust.

Every single test of AC5 vs UAC5 I've seen or heard of has been a win for AC5.
Uac5s are a trap. 5xAC5 is a better overall performer.
