lol, as if you've never been caught with your pants down and LRM'd to death.
Sure, we all have.
Newsflash? We've all had our terribad moments, mad bad decisions, etc. Even the leetest of the leet has done something bad and stupid playing MWO, and I can promise you, it's been more than once.
But the difference between the BADs and the rest? We realize the issue was with a decision or choice we made, and don't blame a really weak weapon system.
The Reason BADs are BAD and stay BAD? They keep making those same BAD choices and expect the outcome to somehow magically change.
An example? A former teammate of mine only ran 300 engined Atlases. And every single match he would ignore cover, and just try to advance to brawling range. And almost every match, he'd get LRM'd to death while barely accomplishing anything. And then rage quit over how broken LRMs were.
Now...was the problem that LRMs were OP? Or that said pilot was making really bad choices and somehow expecting to not suffer consequences?
EVERY SINGLE MAP has ample cover, concealment, etc, as long as one has even a modicum of patience. even the dread Polar is not some Lrmgadeenon deathground...unless you are BAD and let it become such. Stay away from H9. Be smart, use the trenches to move (pro-tip: they also shield you from nasty ERLL, Gauss, PPCs, etc. Crazy, right?). Pay attention. You have NARC indicators in your cockpit. Stay with your ECM and AMS guys if possible. Pay better attention.
Heck, Polar has almost always devolved into mid to short range battles when I play it. I've died to or been seriously damaged by LRMs a handful of times over the last 6 months. And I ain't LEET, but I do get to play against them.
So sure, McGral has died to LRMs. I have. Heimdelight has. So what? None of us do with any frequency.... because most of us choose NOT to be BAD. If you are dying regularly to LRMs... don't look at LRM s to blame... look in the mirror... because the issue is you.
