So I reloaded the game and found this issue were if I lock on to an enemy then moves my sights into the box my cross heir slows down or jumps around. is intentional and can I turn it off?

Cannot really fully understand the intention of your query but I'll have a go.

Are you using JJs by any chance? Not poptarting or feathering the JJs as JJs now shake the aiming reticule. This was bought in a while ago to stop the poptarting meta which was causing great issues within the gaming community.

What is the sensitivity of your mouse in game? If it is high (let's just say 30+) any slight hand movement of the mouse makes it jump around much easier than if it was just say 20.

Lights tend to need higher mouse sensitivity (faster torso twisting) while assaults tend to need a bit lower to ensure that their aim (alpha) can sit exactly on an enemy mech where they want the damage to occur.

Hope this helps answer your question. If not, sorry.

Cheers!
Eboli.

hmm let try to explain it better. my mouse sensitivity is low and I am not using jj. my sights move steady and don't jerk around while im just looking around. but as soon as I target a mech and begin to move my sights onto the mech the sighs begin to jerk or the sensitivity drops and slows down.

Ah, thanks for the explanation.

Ok - another possibility - Can you press F9 while in game and tell us what your FPS is. You will see this in the top left corner. If you are having poor FPS this can cause playing issues. Maybe not exactly what you are describing. Just trying to come up with some ideas.

If you have low fps - less than 25fps (I run at 65fps on 3 monitors) I can see you having aiming problems.

Cheers and hopefully other people will come up with ideas.

Do you mean sticky aim like in console shooters? I dont think thats thing here but it wouldnt hurt to check the options.

I know, what he is talking about. It happens to me very often. When you just look around - everything is fine. But when you try to aim at something, like 'Mech of UAV - crosshair starts to shake, like you're using JJs at this moment. PGI said, that there was such bug in the past, but it was fixed. Not completely, I guess.

Ah, interesting. Never had this bug. Had many others in the past. About 2 months ago I had that lovely yellow stars issue which I encountered maybe 3 years ago. Glad that this repeat was a once off...

Cheers

Not shakes - jumps is better word. Mouse sensitivity is enough, but it feels like some "anti-stick" feature is working - your crosshair just jumps around the target.

was in the training grounds and it feels like sticky aim that wont let go or sometimes it just jumps from
one side of the red box to the other.

This kinda sounds like something you should record and upload to Youtube to send to PGI support,

Naught had a good question.

Are you running in third person view or first person view? Third person view can make things jump around a little.

Cheers.

If I try to stay on an UAV I have to work hard. This is about a 1-2px size item and the higher the resolution the harder it is to hit (got new card and monitor and jumped up)

So it seems higher res setting make it easier to jump a bit - even with low sensitivity. At least on my machine and only with uavs every thing else is better.

Try turning off mouse acceleration. Maybe that's giving you troubles, I forget what it's called in game. And also try disabling "enhance pointer precision" in control panel.
