In the Inner Sphere weight categories, there are:

10x Assault
11x Heavy
12x Medium
9x Light

I'd love to see a few more Light mech options someday. One of the things most entertaining about the table top was the variety of mechs possible. Additionally, I think they're a lot of fun to pilot in MWO (crazy, suicidal fun).On my wishlist for new light mechs:

- Wasp
- Javelin

Granted, they're not the coolest looking mechs in the 3025 Tech Manual, but I have fond memories of them.

Which Light mechs would you love to pilot in MWO?

Is that a Hollander on the 1st pic? If it arrives, I'd like it to have a "No Charge Up" Gauss quirk!

And what's on the second pic?

Jackal and Fireball
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Jackal
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Fireball
2 mechs out of the 3055 TRO. Jackal foolishly doesn't have DHS (yeah... with an ERPPC?) and the Fireball is hot garbage.... but for some reason I 've always liked it.

Kiriage and I are actualyl totally remodeling the Jackal, and I've completely redesigned the chicken walker leg design to a concealed digitigrade that could actually walk without falling over. Can't wait to start posting the improved version.

Those are Bishop's stunning interpretations of the Jackal and the Fireball respectively. :)

Not sure I agree about the Fireball. The thing has virtually no weaponry, although at 183 km/H, not sure that anything could ever catch it.

Why not both?

If I could have my way, I'd take the original TRO 3025 LAM Stinger or Wasp for my light of choice... Just like I'd love the Phoenix Hawk LAM....

I would really like a Peregrine. Its a clan mech but it is a battlemech and Peregrine is its IS name so hey close enough Posted Image

Buuuut..... if it has to be a actual IS mech then I guess I would be fine with anything in the 20,25,30 ton range. We only have 1,1,2 of those and 5 of the 35ton lights.

With a proper collision system. The Porcupine. xD

Other than that maybe the Solitaire.

As cool as LAMs are, this is not the game for them. The skybox just isn't high enough, and there's an upper limit on how fast a player vehicle can be allowed to move in the Crysis engine. If you think z-fighting and LOD pops are bad now... But I digress!

The Jackrabbit is another interesting option, although I'm learning more towards Light mechs that permit jump jets.

Horned Owl/Peregrine would be a great Clan light mech, I agree. It definitely brings the wub.

Yea, I know.... Doesn't change the fact that I want them...

With the current TT values for the hybrid mode being what looks to be triple JJ movement, it means that the Stinger and Wasp LAM's would brake the speed barrier, both have 18 movement in hybrid, but the Pheniox Hawk LAM has 15, so Locust fast!

Thinking more on it, WiGE movement in TT needs you to move 5 hexes forwards to maintain altitude, of one level, in other words 6m of the ground. So I was thinking of a way to do something like this in MWO, make it so they have to move 100-150m forward to maintain a glide speed of 150-ish km/h or be forced to drop down to their run speed, that would be some what slower.

Now to make the gliding more attractive than running, give them horrible agility when not gliding. The main advantage to gliding, would be ignoring terrain for the most part, sloops wouldn't slow you down, you could avoid falling damage by gliding down from heights. The down side would be, no half height cover, and the wings would count as ST's... And you would only be in the hybrid mode.

Well, pretty sure I already admitted in my reply to HtD that it was garbage... I just like it anyhow. I'm the guy that ran an Urbanmech campaign, y aknow?

Well, since no one has mentioned it, I should vote for the:

Hollander

With a "No Charge UP" Gauss quirk! (this last part is critical because it'd be worthless otherwise)

I love Shortpainters work, just so much of it has such a foreign aesthetic it doesn't really feel Battletech... in some ways it almost has a Star Wars meets RIFTs feel. But his Hollander is one that I do really dig. Way better than my own attempts at it.
