Russ didn't like long range meta(probably because he has terrible aim) so they nerfed Gauss, PPCs and now long range Lasers.
Get used to it. Anytime one of the hypersensitive development team gets PWNed in a match by something, it gets changed for the worse.

Plus you're wrong.
The math don't matter.
I'll say that again.
The math don't matter.
What matters is certain Mechs using certain weapons are considered a problem. Blanket nerfing all Mechs with a specific quirk is the wrong response, not morally, rationally.
Way back some time ago when Timbers, Dires and Crows were considered a problem, were there blanket nerfs to several Mechs?
Not initially but recently yes
When the Thunderbolt-9S was considered a problem, were there blanket nerfs to several Mechs? Were other Thunderbolts touched?
Ad mauseum.
Point is clear, PGI took a proven method used of fixing the specific Mechs using certain things causing a problem and nerfing only those Mechs and threw that out the window for this blanket nerf.
The list I compiled proves it.
Where is your list? I see only the one mech set and thunderbolt mentioned.
The math doesn't matter.
I'm not sure where you have been, but you sure weren't around for the pop tart apocalypse. Heavy and Assault JJs, PPCs, and the Gauss rifle still haven't recovered from that set of overreactive nonsense.
