Not really. It rewards the players that keep the lights on, as well as encourages the ones that were on the fences to impulse buy a new package.

Yup, can't be bothered to get angry or snippy about a competitive event that awards c-bills.

If you bought a hero mech and got a c-bill boost for it (as you do), wouldn't that be the same really?

This doesn't contribute to a p2w problem and it encourages people to open wallets (not that I have a single mech that qualifies for this), so it seems reasonable to me.

And 90% of their events allow 100% of the playerbase to participate if not more, so I cannot complain really.

You get what you pay for

Do people think the F2P means just that. A good business's first priority is make money period. After many years working in a number of types of businesses, I have never seen more return on a customer's part for so little cash outlay than in many of the F2p games.

Maybe PGI is trying to show folks that investing in a portion of the game is even a better value. F2P is only a reality because a certain number of folks need to be online at any given time so they can keep their paying customers. I could go on, but you can not explain value to folks in the line at WalMart.

It's only a million c-bills globally, and per chassis.

I make a mill in an hour doing solo drops. It's nothing to get wrapped around the axle over.

The cash side is not evil, it merely rewards more c-bills. This is a known fact, as you can buy C-Bills in the game client with MC.

The free side also awards 1,000,000 C-Bills to challenge participants. So your thread title is a lie.

This is mostly an event for the new steam players. Let them have something its only cbills.

I have only one purchased mech that qualified. Not too concerned (beyond a curiosity legal issue), simply because by the time I got the million for the purchased mech, and the million from the no purchase needed any mech part, I'd earned about 7 million from matches (at the rate of about 300k per match).

The other bits are a bonus that's chassis-specific. Seriously, is a million spacebucks really worth getting salty over considering they had to real-money buy the chassis in question? If you whaled that hard, you can -have- your extra C-bills as a consolation prize.

1. The main event can be completed by ANYONE. The extension of the event aims at rewarding the players extra who supported PGI through purchasing the special versions of the IIC and Unseen mechs. This is actually pretty normal and complaining about this but not previous events just makes me roll my eyes.

2. As for the (S) its aimed at giving the newer Steam players who already invested money into the game a helping hand toward gaining more CBills. I personally have no issue with that, they're already far behind most people in terms of content owned.

you can get a free 1 million cbills from any mech, so how often do you OP complain about getting free stuff?
