In terms of the Blanner...

But hey, at least MASC is getting turbobuffed soon. Assuming that it allows a top speed of +20% like I saw somebody post in another thread, this means your new top speed could be 144.6 kph...that would be so utterly hilarious. Still a mediocre mech, but at least a funny one.

It's also worth noting Fup, that the Black Lanner only has two free sots in the LT and four in the RT... but nothing in the head, CT, arms (aside from shoulder and UAA... ouch no LAA) and feet, aside from the mandatory stuff....

Both the C and the D variants have changed critical locations, this is something that should not be possible by the design rules given to omni-mechs in TT, where PGI takes the omni-mech restrictions from for MWO, C variant has a fully locked up LT, with the no free slots in the head, and seven free slots in the RT, while the D version has three empty slots in the LT and RT.

Well, you're also going to be able to, with both the Lanner and Backer, to run missile spam mechs (one of the most useful for CW), ballistic/laser builds (gauss-laser), and various mixed builds... all with high mounts for the best weapons.

The Backer, for instance, should be able to run a build similar to typical 4xSRM6 and 4xML Catapult build, but with clan engines and cooling, and a lot more speed. Such a build would be godly in CW, as it would likely supplant the Crow using similar builds. It's basically a speedy baby TBR in that build.

And the Huntsman can do the same thing as the Blanner and more.
Also, Why are you comparing the Blanner, a 55t mech to the Cicada, a 40t mech? Now I get your Cicada vs Jenner comparison but the thing with the Cicada is that it can actually carry heavier weapons and be effective with some variety of builds vs say the Jenner which is more of a specialist.

The point is that as a medium, both the Cicada and Lanner suck. But if you think of both as well-armored lights they both look more favorable. Personally I don't care about the Lanner much. It's very niche and I'm not positive it can be well represented in MWO... but the arguments against it are a little off-base.

Then again, I really DO want the Linebacker, and most people arguing against it apply the same logic... not enough pod space for its class.
