...and it got me wondering...

Are we also going to be able to put ground effect lights on it? Spinning rims? Chrome tipped exhaust pipes? Lots and lots of aftermarket brand decals even if we aren't putting any of that manufacturers stuff in our rifleman?

Cuz if not, I will haz sad.

Ask your engineering department.

Pretty sure actual engineers would frown on ground effect lighting on a giant death robot...

That might be exactly why I told you to ask them.

Engineering department demands pilots stop asking for stupid **** while they try and fixed over stressed actuators due to JJ fluttering.

it's part of its targeting system that allows it to be good at shooting down aerospace fighters. Which aren't in this game... so yeah..

It's also considered a really good targeting/tracking system even not taking aircraft into account.

If we ever got sensor quirks, anyway...

It is the lot of an Astech (also an Asstech) to do and not to question why.

How else could you explain 50% of Battletech...

So you're saying that just because a medieval longbow out ranged LRM's, I shouldn't ever have asked why? ;)

Or made snarky comments about it?

Or asked for ground effect lighting on a mech with a pointless wing? :D

pretty sure actual engineers would frown upon the utterly expensive and underwhelming nature of giant bipedal war machines, to begin with.

Medieval Longbows maxed out around 400 yards. Seems a tad hyperbolistic. I'd say LRMs being outranged by early black powder firearms would be a more accurate comparison. Posted Image

And the wing is not useless...it makes it go faster. Everyone knows this.

And how! too much ground pressure they would sink into the mud, have trouble with sand, snow, ice.... the list goes on and on... hell Cities and forests would be such a death trap for mechs.... And let's not even get started on ammo feed issues, mounting issues, recoil issues for large ballistic weapons, ammunition storage issues, armouring issues...

No, it's the red paint, the Red ones go fasta! But the wing is there for style.

I thought it was those big black stripes down the middle that make it go fast...

and the issues with tall vertical targets vs cheap man portable missile launchers...... (let alone the larger one carried on real armored vehicles and aircraft)

Bishop, I think he is referring to a Primitive Longbow... How he knows what the quirks will be I will never know. :D / Sarcasm.

Yellow is the fastest color. Red being fast is a myth perpetuated by those that realize how fast yellow is so that cops bother the guys using red.

The wing on the rifleman isn't big enough to make it faster. It would need two or three more stacked on there to achieve that, OR be roughly half again as wide and 2/3 again taller.

Still, there must be some potential for new buys, there is still speed tweak after all. Maybe some titanium exaust tips would do it........
