Yellow is the fastest color. Red being fast is a myth perpetuated by those that realize how fast yellow is so that cops bother the guys using red.

The wing on the rifleman isn't big enough to make it faster. It would need two or three more stacked on there to achieve that, OR be roughly half again as wide and 2/3 again taller.

Still, there must be some potential for new buys, there is still speed tweak after all. Maybe some titanium exaust tips would do it........

Gork or is it Mork would disagreeing with jooo, as would all da boyz in the Speed freakz clan!

Gee guys.... don't you know the "wing" on top of the Rifleman is really a launch-able long range, high speed UAV? One that could be flow remotely to the far corners of the battlefield and even, with its one small pulse laser, engage the standard static UAVs from other mechs.

One can only dream......

pretty sure actual engineers would frown upon the utterly expensive and underwhelming nature of giant bipedal war machines, to begin with.

This is why engineers need managers to tell them what to do. If all we ever did was what engineers wanted the world would be boring.

Clearly you don't work with Engineers.... The word I use most often when looking over their desings, before I go back to them is "WTF are they smoking?!?!"

Without instruction, engineers just walk around aimlessly and bump into things, kind of like a roomba.

So you're saying that just because a medieval longbow out ranged LRM's, I shouldn't ever have asked why? Posted Image

Or made snarky comments about it?

Or asked for ground effect lighting on a mech with a pointless wing? Posted Image

That's a whole loada questions mechwarrior. I bet those fancy astechs over on Solaris are always real helpful, but this LBX2 ain't gonna fit itself to the Atlas here, and I don't got time for philosophy.

The fact that you are sticking an LBX2 on an Atlas is proof enough that you shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the design board :P

Bipedal war machine might not happen, but there are already four and six legged "forrest mechs" that wander around broken woods terrain cutting down and stripping trees for lumber in use today. Something like that could potentially be weaponized and armored.

Ask your engineering department.

Engineering department attached ground effects lighting per pilot request, after carefully explaining the vibration from 65 tons of mech will shatter said light.

Pilot reports lights shattered before he exited the hangar. Engineering reported holding signs saying TOLD YOU SO.

it's part of its targeting system that allows it to be good at shooting down aerospace fighters. Which aren't in this game... so yeah..

Damned shame, too. I miss all the vehicle choices I had in MechWarrior: Living Legends.
