The multiple choice in your sig needs a checkbox for butthurt

The multiple choice in my sig is correct because I don't actually care about your sad, pathetic need to try and be something in this game and curry favours from the top brass.

However I smell BS and it's always the funniest thing in the world to troll the hell out of neckbeards like you who take the seriousness of gaming beyond all realms of comprehension.

Well, to be quite honest, MS is more about playing for fun than they are about super tryhard comp play.

The Clan front is dead. Nobody can deny that. MS is actually trying to keep the game fun by actually providing opponents who are willing to fight.

You're getting butthurt because you truly don't care about playing for fun, otherwise you would support this move. You just don't like it because your, "play for fun," attitude likely translates to you not being very good, and you oppose this move because you just don't want a challenge.

Simple: Big units have basically wrecked CW for the casual player and PUG. They have also mounted a long-standing campaign to prevent any changes to the format that would reduce seal-clubbing using idiotic excuses such as:
- It's community WARfare - it's not supposed to be fun!
- Seal-clubbing is a vital and realistic part of what makes CW fun (but only if you're clubbing the seals)
- Big units don't want to club seals, it just happens! (Except for the part where they vehemently denounce any changes to the format that would actually, you know, reduce seal clubbing)
- If PUG's just used VoIP or joint a team, somehow they'd all magically become great players and never have to club seals again! (Except that this makes zero sense since the whole problem is caused by teams clubbing seals - joining a team just lets you do the clubbing, which should be boring for anyone over the age of 3.)

So, after many rousing months of listening to big teams spew forked-tongued blather while they utterly wrecked CW and wasted every dollar poured into it, we now get nonsense like this, where PGI basically hands free goodies to the very types of groups - big teams - that drove everyone else out of CW. Basically, their matches were boring so they get free stuff to make them less boring. Utterly fail logic from PGI, as usual.

Cool: So, can I have a free Mauler because that would make things "less boring" for me, too. And it would somehow be good for the game in the same silly and self-serving way this way. Whatever.

I can't respond to this seriously because there's so much hyperbolic drivel its nauseating.

Are we complaining that CW is dominated by large groups? Wasn't that its intended purpose? Didn't russ flat out say CW is hard mode meant for coordinated team play?

Oh noes! A CW team in a niche game wants to save a few spacebucks (which they could likely earn in under half an hour) and forgo the 3 day waiting period, which might actually result in a more balanced CW environment?! Holy carp, the world is ending!!!!

Yeah, I don't care in the slightest.

Sorry if the facts are drivel to you, but those are the facts. You have a handful of huge teams that utterly wrecked that format and drove everyone else out while spouting off forked-tongued nonsense to justify their seal-clubbing epeen competitions. Or, didn't you notice that?

As for the rest, if you can't figure out why handing freebies to people just for whining loud enough that their game mode is boring - particularly AFTER the same people drove everyone else away and thus made sure it would stay boring - than there's no help for you. Get a clue.

Oops I don't even play CW because 1) it's turgid MOBA style rubbish and 2) because of what oldradagast said.

Like I said, trolling neckbeards like you who take gaming way too seriously is the most entertaining thing in the online world these days.

I'm not a fan of MS playstyle / posting style (with some exceptional members).

But I have long felt that the 3 day cooldown for faction hopping was stupid, especially because PGI doesn't provide the playerbase with any population metrics that would help them determine where they should move to.

TLDR: Good on Russ for approving this, and good on MS for moving back to the Clans.

Official Mercstar Response

The queues seriously lacked Clan players on Saturday night. We were getting turret drops over and over as FRR. (naturally people voted for a stint in Inner Sphere to play Warhammers)

Rather than suffer through **** queues Saturday-Tuesday we decided to see if Russ wanted to help ease the situation right away.

Turns out he was willing to allow us to insta-swap us to get matches to better kick off. I'm sure he would have been willing to do the same for others.

Some people have been spreading all these conspiracies but they are all downright false.

I'm confused why pugs complain about the CW game mode so much when there is a warning when choosing a faction that literally says "this is a highly competitive game mode" hence you should prepare for well organized teams to win every time. I feel like everyone is just whining for whinings sake just to try and make a point... at this point it does not matter anyway with phase 3 going to roll out.

So, to sum up: They didn't need the freebies, but got them anyway, while others could could benefit from them didn't.

Oh noes a 3 day lock out? And a c-bill penalty, in a mode where you can make a stupid amounts of c-bills? That's just so unfair for a big unit that can distablize faction balance by hopping around from faction to faction...

/sarcasm

You're missing the point. If they are taking 7 day contracts, or near the end of a contract, what gain is there for them to cancel it?
They get locked out of CW for 3 days, or they wait 3 or 4 days while continuing to play, and then switch. It's effing stupid to cancel in that case, not to mention effing over the hundreds of players in the unit by locking them out of CW.

Why on earth should they punish themselves to do PGI a favor? Even if they are not close to the end of a contract, why should they eff over their members by locking them out of CW?

I doubt they just out of the blue are asking for PGI to cancel it for them - there have been a lot of accusations lobbed at them about avoiding other units as well as a lot of player complaints that everyone moved to IS causing the huge imbalance in the faction populations, so they offer to move. Seriously people, get over yourselves.

Maybe Russ saw the benefit in moving a very large group of players to a underpopulated faction, so that one of the cornerstone game modes could have more activity?

I'm pretty sure that you are only locked out of CW between when the Contract Expires / 3 day penalty expires, until you sign up for another contract.

The 3 day wait period still allows you to drop with your old faction.

The purpose of CW is to add game content, not provide a private little seal-clubbing playground where a bunch of tryhards can club seals to their hearts content and then scream all over the forums that they are doing anything but that.

The only hyperbolic nonsense here is that a big team - one that basically "won" CW by helping drive everyone else away - now needs a handout from the very company that is NOT benefiting from the utter ghost town of CW. The stupidity should be obvious, even to those with their heads buried up their rears: PGI doesn't make a dime on CW in its current dead form, and it's doubly stupid giving handouts to people who don't need them while denying the same to people who could benefit.

If anyone thinks big teams were going to leave MW because they were locked out of flipping CW sides for a few days, they are kidding themselves. They are also kidding themselves if they think MS changing sides is going to revitalize the seal-carcass filled wasteland of CW. This is nothing but a handout to people who don't need it so that they don't "stay bored" by the format that they helped drive to its current dead, boring state.

Again, can I get a free Mauler because the current game is "boring?" Same stupid logic.
