I believe that it is time for Clan Coyote to make an appearance here on MWO. The reason for this is simple. It gives players yet another playable faction, although Clan, as well as bringing Streak LRM's to the game.

How would Streak Lurms be different than regular Lurms, exactly? Besides just being heavier?

I still want Clan Fire Llama.

Clan Lethargic Tortoise would suffice though.

Unfortunately, PGI expects us to all become fanboys of the Popular Four. No avatars, no unit logos, no special paint jobs, nothing. Kind of killed my interest in CW.

CW killed my interest in CW, to be honest.

LONG LIVE CMEG

IF they add more clan factions to the game, they ought to add the other invader factions. Nova Cat, Steel Viper, and Diamond Shark.

Hi Clan Coyote! Would you please take a number behind Clan Nova Cat, Clan Steel Viper, and Clan Diamond Shark? All three of those were already actually supposed to be in the Inner Sphere by the Battle of Tukayyid, a fight we in this community have experienced twice now. (Hell, one of the Nova Cat specific mechs is in the game now, too, and yet here we still are, not actually here....)

At this point, I do not even expect to ever see a camo scheme for those factions, let alone having an actual in game faction toggle for those three Clans. All I can hope for is that Russ remembers to include decals for all the Clans, and not just the big four. I can ghetto rig my paint scheme to match fairly closely with Snowfall, but I would love to have some Nova Cat emblems on my mechs.....

PGI could've buffed LRM speed but give them limited tracking, meaning that if you move far enough a volley will miss, the angle would be too steep for missiles to track you. Streak LRMs could have stronger tracking. IIRC there's even a variable in MWO called "tracking strength", dunno what it does exactly though.

I could do without the factions themselves; ally the others with existing factions. For example, Steel Vipers with Jade Falcons, Nova Cats with Smoke Jaguars, etc. The Periphery powers could be added in the same way; ally the Magistracy of Canopus with the Capellan Confederation, for example.

This way, people could enjoy the representation of their favourite faction without splintering the playerbase any further.

factions like liao and marik are just pointless and stupid.

I cannot see what makes them any more pointless than Jade Falcon, or less deserving of the right to exist.

Its already splintered too much as is.

They need to rework CW so theres only 2 factions. It should ONLY be clan vs IS.

Within those two factions would still be all the various subfactions. But subfactions should not be able to fight against other subfactions from the same faction.

Unless they come up with a very clever way to manage factions active player population (not very likely, is it?), there's no point in adding more factions whether they be more clams, St Ives, periphery states or comstar.

If you ask Russ on twitter he might do it though

The most fun I personally have in cw is IS vs IS, would be a shame to lose domestic warfare altogether. There could be some mileage in sub factioning though with larger alliances, but it would get pretty complicated in order to make it boh interesting and fair-ish while preventing it from breaking down into every faction for themselves

Why Clan Coyote before at least Steel Viper or Nova Cat? Coyotes just sat on the sidelines during the entire invasion as the Crusader Clans get tore up. They didn't even lift a hand to Clan Wolf during the Refusal War. What place do they have in this game set in this timeline?

If anything we need less factions than more, clans are already back to their home planets just about in CW. And we've not even gotten to the IS counter attack yet. Though if we skipped past that we would have like 4 less factions I think? No more smoke jags, gb and frr merge I think, fedcom instead of stein n dav, etc. Would probably help faction populations in CW at least.

As a bonus either diamond sharks or nova cats could be used as a sort of bazaar faction whom you could buy w/e the **** mechs you want from Posted Image
